@@pdv9184 My dad; Fred Price, of the 6th, sighted in cannons of sorts. While in the Philippines, His Captain White committed suicide 3 days after mistaking one of his men as a Jap trying to get into a foxhole. But that guy never followed orders and slept on the outside of his foxhole. When the alert blew and the flares sent up, he was seen trying to get back into his hole. Captain White didn't know it was one of his men. After the situation, all of the Captains things were gathered up except his M1 Carbine, so dad grabbed it and kept it in his locker back where things were safe. At times, he got ammo for it and target practiced and he loved it. His M1 Garand is what was issued to him, so that was his combat firearm. Dad feared getting caught dissembling the wood from the carbine and wanted to bring it home, but last minute, just left it in his locker.

I have some 6th army patches that belonged to my grandfather, he was a cook at Camp Rees Korea from 1946-48, I also have a few photographs that show groups of soldiers with the same stars on their helmets as seen in this video, is the 6th army and the 6th infantry division the same thing?
