David Hidalgo is in Los Lobos. Keelin Garcia is one of Jerry's daughters. I was fortunate to be in the Capital Center on 9/3/88 when the Grateful Dead played their only Electric version of "Ripple", for a "Wish Come True" cancer patient. All previous versions were acoustic, and it was also the final ever performance of it by the band. It was a second encore song, after "One More Saturday Night", a regular Saturday encore, and some folks left early, just in time to hear the first notes of "Ripple" as the door shut behind them. Oops, NEVER leave early! I walked around in the parking lot for three hours after just saying "Did I really just see that!?" A belated Happy New Years guys.

The playing for change series is awesome. They do great classic songs with usually at least one of the originals in it and all done very well. Soulshine with Warren Haynes, there’s one or two Zeppeljn covers either John Paul Jones several Bob Marley songs. Fun stuff.
