Its awesome to see companies like sirui and blazer making such cool new stuff at a reasonable price!

@@SightseeingStan Hi bro. What is the best lighting for KZbin video shooting under $250 from Amazon? If possible, what kind of vertical lighting did you use in this video? Thank you.

2:10 thanks for calling that out. Focus without stops combined with focus pulling hardware is a nightmare. It's the exact reason why I switched to Nikon lenses on my Sony when using my focus puller =x

For anyone interested just wait for the Blazar Apex ones! They seem more promising.

Haven't had the opportunity to try them. Have you seen direct comparisons?

You also should do tilting video tests for lenses to show off the distortion characteristics for all video lenses, especially anamorphics, which are known to warp.
@TheSteveKinney11 күн бұрын
The strangest thing is that this lens doesn’t really feel like anamorphic outside of the flares. Which look nice. But something about the footage just feels off. The depth isn’t the same. But at the same time, there is something I like about it too. Just weird. Also blue flares over everything. Silver is annoying cause the flare never really looks very good, just looks distracting. Blue is what we’ve always seen on the silver screen.

Filmmakers generally don't want sharp lenses. They also generally don't mind chromatic aberration, as long as it isn't terrible. They do care about the anamorphic mumps as that will drastically alter the look and even limit the types of shots you will do. You barely did any panning. Just tiny sideways movement. That might be an indication of something.

Whether or not you mind the CA or sharpness is up to you, I just mention my findings

Legacy focussing technology, terrible focus breathing, to much distortion and impossible to use with any follow focus system.. that looks to me like a prototype and not production ready.
@thatchinaboi117 күн бұрын
You didn't show us any panning shots to demonstrate the anamorphic mumps or lack thereof. That is a HUGE OVERSIGHT. Can't make a review on anamorphic lens without testing it. 🙂
