The rise time measurement is limited by the sample rate. At 10 Gs/s you are getting a point every 100ps. If you tun off the sin(x)/x interpolation it might look a bit better. Since this scope only does real time sampling you are limited by the sample rate. Some scopes like my TDS784D have an equivalent faster sample rate for repetitive waveforms. You can see an example on a very short video I have measuring the rise and fall time of my TDS784 which goes up to 250 Gs/s. The reason the level is a bit low at 2GHz is the scope is response should be 3dB down (71%) at 2GHz. I agree the lump is likely damage the screen when impacted. I would really like to have the new Siglent SDS2354X HD 12 bit scope.

I really like the DVM function too. Would be a good addition to the 2000X plus (which I also own). I use the bode plot from time (testing control circuits), I think it‘s pretty useful. However, I think it tends to make the scope a little bit slower than I like it to be. Ah btw: PSRR = Power supply rejection ratio, SOA = Safe operating area. Never used those features myself. I might at some point…

The price of that thing would have me in the poor house and I STILL wouldn't have an R&S or Tektronix! okay I'm jealous. Of course, I'd love to have it. Actually - I knew it would be at least US $20,000 when I saw 2GHz and probe sensing and four channels . But for US $10k? It's actually a HUGE bargain. Good on ya, Siglent. I think Siglent have pulled ahead of Rigol in building value and a semi-acceptable name for entry-level gear. Very high-end in features. Very competitive on the price. They're really going for the throat here.

My biggest complaint of their newer scopes is that they (like everyone except Keysight) have still not learned how to decouple the UI from the acquisition hardware. Moving the waveform up/down/left/right with the knobs should have ZERO lag, but instead is painfully slow. The SDS1204X-E on the other hand is much faster to interact with. It still acquires and updates the waveform _while_ you're interacting with it and is far more responsive. While it's still not decoupled from the acquisition hardware, it's far more pleasant to use than the SDS2000/5000/6000 series. I have both the SDS1204X-E and SDS2014X+ and for daily use, I always reach for the SDS1204X-E first because it boots up fast and is much more responsive to interact with. I'd love to get the SDS2000X HD or even the SDS6000A, but seeing as they still haven't fixed the horribly laggy UI, I'd rather wait for Keysight's megazoom 5 scopes.
