Loved the video... and rhe dialogue!! Lol. I got the 16.. then the 56 and paired that with a cheap old Olympus body so I don't always have to change lenses. So got two bodies and two fixed focal lengths and they're soo good

Thank you! They're both great lenses and capable of pretty much anything that you throw at them! Have a nice evening!

Thank you! ❤️ MFT vs FF is a long debate but regardless of the tools your using: Use it to tell your story, that's what's important! No one remembers your depth of field but if you tell a good story it can stick for life! But maybe I'll go FF in the future - Who knows? 😇 Thank you for watching!

Any ideea if sigma 16 mm f 1.4 fits both e mount and ef m?
@Naumachia Жыл бұрын
Yes it is available to buy with many different mounts! It's available for MFT-, E-, L-, X-, EF-M and Nikon Z-mount!
@gigibecalli4851 Жыл бұрын
Cause the lens and specification seem to be exactly the same for both e mount and ef m mount
@Naumachia Жыл бұрын
@@gigibecalli4851 Do you mean if it fits both E- and EF-M if it’s E-mount? You have to choose which system you want to buy it for. It won’t fit several systems at the same time :)

I agree! The Sigma Trio is Great! Sigma should bring a weather sealed 30mm version 2! I tend to work with the Nokton, because I love the clickless aperture control and the perfect Manual Focus! They are unique and very cinematic. It seems that the Mitakon f095 lenses are very good also.

I was so excited about the Voigtländer lenses for MFT before I bought these and I still kinda am 😅 I just could not afford them so I went for the Sigmas instead! The thing that's annoying with these lenses are the non linear focus, it's so hard with the GH5 to get repeated focus pulls 😂 Thanks for watching and I hope that you got a good start on the new year!

Thank you Nolan! ❤ You won't be disappointed! For the money it's probably one of the best lenses for MFT! It's my go-to lens for talking head and it's so useful for many other situations! Plus, the "macro" capabilities of it is just bonkers! Wish you a great start of the new year mate!

Thank you for showing example footage with these lenses. I think the 16mm and 30mm ones will be my next purchase. Looks like there is a little learning curve with the focus on the 30mm. I suggest setting up an amazon affiliate account for your channel so your audience can buy from your link and you can get commission too!
@Naumachia3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! You won't regret these lenses, they are superb for the MFT system and pretty cheap too! Yeah, the 30mm is really cool when focusing close but the closer you get with a fast lens the thinner the focal plane becomes. So when trying to do "macro" shots it's pretty hard 😅 Thank you for the tip on Amazon affiliate account! I'll need to read up on it before I commit to anything.. Not sure how it works 🙃

I had the 16mm for about a year and it's a really great lens but I couldn't resist the 16mm 1.2 pro. It's a pretty significant difference in photo quality at all apertures and smaller and truly weather resistant.

Thanks for watching! As I mention in the video, the 16mm were a "B-stock" item from a shop here in Finland and it cost me 269€. The 30 & 56mm had the cashback-deal and I paid less for them too. I've seen them used a couple of times and they can be found for a pretty decent price in that case! Wait for a Sigma or store drive when the prices are lower! At the moment here in Finland Rajala Pro Shop is selling the L-mount versions for significantly less money and they'll probably sell the MFT-version for less sometime in the future when they have a drive on them. Good luck!

I have the sigma 16mm f/1.4, love that lens for lowlight shot but hate it for it's weight lol. Now i need a good lens for portrait, is the sigma 56mm f/1.4 the best lens available for portrait on mft? Sadly you don't cover portrait use on the video especially the 56mm, wonderful shots btw!
@Naumachia3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words and watching! I actually don't use the GH5 for photography! I've got the Fuji XT-4 which I like more for my photography-work. But it's actually a good idea to test it out! The Bokeh is wonderful with the 56mm but it might be too tight for certain shooting-styles. The 30mm feels like a better overall portrait-lens but maybe I'll test them out to decide which is better for photography! Thank you for the idea and maybe such a video will pop up on the channel soon! Have a nice weekend!

Best MFT lens for portrait is the nocticron 42.5 mm f/1.2
@mendelhamoen64511 ай бұрын
My guess: the Zuiko pro 45 1.2 is the best (has the most beautiful rendering) - the sigma 56 1.4 is great too (it’s the sharpest), and Zuiko 75 1.8 is also superb but obviously has a significant longer focal range. I have them all, hard to tell “which is the best” but I am tempted to say the 45 1.2 pro

Thank you! Yeah it's a great lens! 😍 No! I haven't bought so much for Fuji lately but I still have all my Fuji-gear! I even have some Fuji-related videos planned! It's just that the GH5 has been a much better camera for work. Unlimited recording, superb IBIS and full size HDMI are some of the excellent things with the GH5 that I miss when using my XT4 😅 But there are certainly other occasions that I prefer the XT4 such as low light, internal 10-bit recording in 50p, AF and that lovely Eterna profile!

I have the three lens in your video, while they work well on micro 4/3 they are far from the only ones that you need unless you want to limit what you photograph. I have several different bodies from Panasonic and Olympus In 4/3 . The G9, G95 and OMD EM1 MKII and MKIII also Em 5 MKIII, ALONG with the three Sigma lens I also have a few primes and zoom lenses from Panasonic and Olympus to round out my collection from ultra wide angle to telephoto as I use them for event, wildlife and landscape photography. Each camera system I have including Pentax and Fujifilm has the same range of glass.

Hi James! Of course everything is different for different types of shooters but I've made the first part of my career as a videographer with these three lenses only. They basically cover the classic most used focal lengths, provide excellent image quality and are exceptionally cheap for what you get. Thanks for watching!

Great video. I am currently using the 17/1.8 and 25/1.7 and am disappointed with both. Had the lovely 20/1.7 before, but now I am realizing the 16 and 30mm FL while may seem odd, could actually be very interesting for a unique look.
@Naumachia3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! How come you're disappointed with those lenses? The 20/1.7 is a great lens, would like to own it too in the future! I've been so happy with the outcome of the client work I've been doing and it feels like a breath of fresh air with these lenses. I compared this Sigma 30mm to the Sigma 50mm FF that my friend uses and the differences aren't that big I'd say. That's at least one of the perks of using MFT 😂 Have a nice evening!
@beomon34493 жыл бұрын
@@Naumachia I shoot film mostly and use digital for video and low light - so I stop down the 17/1.8 to f2.8 at most, and the corner sharpness is hit and miss. I suspect it may be field curvature, not so much resolution. Re the 25/1.7, on Olympus bodies the focusing is downright poor, and there is also focus shift at f4. I never noticed it in my actual shooting but I did test it on purpose and it showed. And since I already own the 14/2.5, the Sigma 30mm makes more sense. Btw, great channel, I only just discovered it.
@cameronkrause47122 жыл бұрын
You say micro 4/3 is lacking the depth of field that you get with other formats. Sorry to say so, but you have that backwards. Lots of depth of field is when you have a lot of the background in focus or sharp. Less depth of field is when more of the background, AND FOREGROUND is not in focus. Thus a smaller format is said to give you more depth of field because more is in focus as you can cover more territory with the circles of confusion.
@Naumachia2 жыл бұрын
If you honestly thought that was what I meant, my fault. I may have explained it wrong but I think that most people know what i meant even though I left out ”shallow” by mistake. Sometimes people makes mistakes 🧐
@Scotty-dq5om2 жыл бұрын
Cropping has no affect on aperture. So no, you CAN get rich, creamy broken on microfourthrirds.
@Naumachia2 жыл бұрын
Of course you can, it's very easy with longer focal lengths! I should've explained my thoughts in more detail: In wider focal lengths this is pretty apparent if you want to keep a distance between your subject and the camera. There's a very big difference between the Sigma 16mm (32mm FF) f/1.4 for MFT and the Lumix S 35mm f/1.8 in regards of bokeh. Biggest thing for me here is interviews for example. 35mm is my go to on my S5 and 9.7 times out of 10 you don't want to show the background. One thing that struck me after I bought the S5's is that you can get better performance from the lenses on FF and still have the background separated. Most lenses are at their softest wide open and on MFT to achieve separation you pretty much need to stop the lenses all the way down. f/2.8 - f/4 in interviews on full frame is really beautiful and you get to stop down the lens to get a better performance out of the lens. Don't get me wrong, even though my main cameras are two S5's, I love shooting on my GH5. Both FF and MFT have their strengths and weaknesses and as soon as you realize that, you can utilize that. And luckily, creating something beautiful and interesting has to do with so much more than bokeh! 😂 Thanks for your comment and take care!

You know that your comment makes no sense, right? I wouldn’t be using MFT if I thought bokeh is the most important aspect. And I never said it either. It is, however a tool that can be used to convey an emotion and MFT is both limited and blessed with the amount you can physically get. I suggest taking a day off to cool down 🤨
