Hi Amadeusz and thanks for the video, you seem to be the only one who noticed the very bad 1080p downscaling, it's unacceptable and that's the main reason that I'm not buying this camera, I'd like to do some slow motion but since it's forced to 1080p it's unusable for me. I really wish they could do soething about it in a firmware update, but I highly doubt it,

Great test. A Log mode is coming to improve the dynamic range even further, but there might not be fixes to the other image issues unfortunately. I've been looking at a camera to use rangefinder glass, the S1 seems a lot more refined, but the size is just way too big for these small lenses.

Log is not a good combination with 8-bit codec, it rarely works good. I'd love to simply have a 10-bit h.265 or h.264 like on the S1 where even the 72Mbit 4K h.265 offers impressive editing possibilities. I tested the S1 and even without V-Log it's a staggering camera (I used HLG for the test and it's pretty good). But the size is an issue, I see what you mean, especially with the small rangefinder lenses. Maybe they'll work better with a next gen Sony full frame camera and the TechArt adapter?

Outstanding video. I have the fp and am experiencing the same issues with the 12bit Raw. They are soft. In grading your movie test, did you do any corrections in DaVinci Resolve to help resolve the softness? Thanks again for the testing!

Tak, da się zejść poniżej zera. Zwykle tego nie robię, bo czasem to poprawia sytuację, a czasem powoduje że obraz wygląda jak papka - zależnie od producenta i modelu. A nie mam tylu godzin żeby pieczołowicie do każdego testu szukać optymalnej wartości wyostrzania. Dlatego zostawiam na "0" czyli wartości uznanej przez producenta za neutralną.

@@AmadeuszAndrzejewski ok znalazłem :) tak jak mówisz pod przyciskiem color trzeba wejść w zaawansowane ustawiania... trochę ukryte. Jak na razie to sprzęt fajny ale bardziej ze względu na fizyczne wymiary matrycy FF. Jakość materiału nie bije konkurencji aczkolwiek T&O jest bardzo przyjemne do spacerowania. Niestety to ma być sprzęt pod zastosowania bardziej profesjonalne a nie rekreacyjnie :) czekam zatem na nowości od Fuji i Sony co oni pokażą? :)

Thank you for the chart test Amadeusz and the eng subs, when you say there is something wrong in 4K downscaling, you mean that in photo mode if you take a FF dng of the chart there's no aliasing problem ? Could you provide us a link of a dng from the movie mode and a dng from the photo mode ? Regarding another subject, you are right, Sigma offers extreme codecs, i really think this camera could highly benefit from getting BRAW, maybe Sigma is in talk with BMD ? I know that many SD Cards handle 12:1 and 8:1 without trouble, some even report 5:1 is working under 24/25p, i saw some nice footage from davinci where colorists use the BMD Film Gamma and Color Space to grade FP footage. I really want to buy this FF pocket camera but i need to know if problems are hardware related or fixable in firmware. Another not related question, from a pro update field of view , C500II or FX9 ? (Coming from a FS5 and C200, used to sony and canon)

Hi :) I uploaded frames from all the video modes in raw (4K@25p, HD@25p, HD@50p each in full frame and APS-C mode) here: drive.google.com/open?id=1Qwtzi8qmwlE34iHR9-lCgDSx1F596oen Unfortunately I didn't take a still shot of the chart, but it would probably look undistorted, similarly to what I got in 6K in the Panasonic S1H test (it's also on my channel). As for the other codecs - I don't know if Blackmagic is willing to license BRAW to other companies. But that still leaves a ton of other options like debayered 4:2:2/10-bit or 4:4:4/12-bit footage. The SD cards may be a bottleneck, but the FP works great with external SSD drives, just like BMDPocket 4K/6K or the Z-Cam E2. And about your C500mk2 / FX9 question - I'd say they're positioned to do slightly different things. C500mk2 seems more oriented towards high end documentary productions, commercials, independent features, whereas FX9 is positioned more towards tv shows and 'run and gun'. If I had the money I'd get the C500 mk II because of higher frame rates in full frame mode.

@@AmadeuszAndrzejewski Thank you for your effort, i digged a bit more on the FP and checked some DNG still files found here (www.photographyblog.com/reviews/sigma_fp_review/sample_images) the 1st one, the man against the wall, his vest shows severe moire...Let see what brings the next firmware... Thank you too for your insights regarding C500II and FX9. I understand that the C500II can do it all, right now, while the FX9 is subject to updates. 5K€ Difference though :S

You can't fix a small battery with firmware. As for the rest - just check the list of whatever they corrected with each major fw update

Amadi. Rawy są zawsze ostrzejsze i dają efekt Mory. Co to oznacza? Ano to, że nie ma filtru OLPF na sensorze. Pewnie niedługo się pojawią takie.

Rawy nie powinny być ostrzejsze, to zdebayerowany materiał jest wyostrzony. Zresztą widać to w filmie. A brak filtra dolnoprzepustowego tak pojechanych pikseli jak tu widzimy moim zdaniem nie tłumaczy. No i dziwi mnie, że żaden renomowany program nie potrafi tych rawów tak wywołać żeby się tego g**na pozbyć, a procesor aparatu robi to bez problemu. Chcesz parę klatek w DNG do przetestowania w Ediusie?
