Reylin i recommend the youtube channel Signed With Heart, she teaches CORRECT asl signs and she shows side views of them and slowed down editions as well to make it easier to learn. hope it helps and good luck signing!

Which ever is your dominant hand you use. But you can choose which one, just make sure you stay consistent and use only one hand.

This is terrible! As a CODA I’m super disgusted that you couldn’t bother to check if your signs were correct. Some people are trying to learn and I’ve literally had people come up to me and by gf (who is deaf) and try signing, but their ASL is terrible and impossible to understand, probably because they learned it from you guys...

i am a beginner at asl and i have to say she had almost all of the signs wrong. if anyone is trying to learn American sign language, i recommend the channel Signed With Heart and not this channel. she has side views of the sighs and slowed downs movements for signs to make it easier to learn. Please use that instead of learning the nonsense in this video.

I actually respect the deaf I'm only 11 but I saw a drive through vs. deaf man and the disrespect that deaf people have to deal with when trying to work so I was like well I feel as if more people should learn sigh language and there should be at least 1 person that knows it in the store/place because it's unfair so I wanted to learn sigh language and I'm glad that I read comments because this was actually a bit disrespectful because people memorize these so they can end up to be incorrect I feel as if a real deaf person should teach sigh language and/or a person who knows correct sigh language

One big disservice to signing is after how long its been around, it's not been adopted as a true universal language in all countries. It could litteraly be a go to language for interpreters that may not know a certain language somewhere, plus if it where consolidated to the same signs internationally, it would help grow awareness for signing immensely*. I always assumed it was a universal language, but the signing differs from country to country. A universal language, and this can not be stated enough, is supremely overdue. Imagine how it could break barriers so much more quickly not to mention more easily. Sounds like a no brainer eh, but it remaines a mystery why no one has gotten this language consolidated to one basic language. Understanding is the first part in any major positive shift.
