Seeing this video uploaded made me interested in playing. 4 months later, I found myself wondering what to do before the Hunt update and decided to take the plunge. This was one of the best horror games I’ve ever played, and this was a very well made video. Bravo!

Very solid video man, well done. I like a lot of your interpretations as they're very refreshing to to hear (though I may disagree with some of them of course) For instance I don't think The King in Yellow was as much of a catalyst as you described but rather a literal 4th wall touchstone for the creators to hint at for some of the more obscure elements. For instance, the lily ending is very random and makes almost no sense, however, having read the book there's a story in The King in Yellow called The Lily. While it doesn't exactly answer the many questions everyone has about that ending (and there are a LOT of them) it does help to interpret the lily itself and what it might mean. Similarly a personal theory of mine is that the Isle of the Dead painting that we wind up in is actually Carcosa from the King in Yellow mythology, which is described as a sort of "world between worlds" or rather "island".

@@datguyuno98 @datguyuno98 I really appreciate you for finishing the video. I won't lie, I hit a creative brick wall with the king in yellow. I tried to stay as original as possible. But also for times sake, I didn't want to regurgitate the many theories surrounding it. For example, certain characters become characters from the King in yellow. Aka Adler becoming the king. But overall it was mainly my creative powers, Ive already spent so much time on the video and I was really struggling to write.

@@Kazaonyt Totally makes sense, as someone who's played the game 4 times I wouldn't even know where to begin with a video essay of my own because my theories on what's happening changes depending on the day of the week lol. I'm only a few minutes in but was impressed by the custom animations in the beginning, including Elster doing a one-armed press check haha. Also I feel like you're the only video essayist to pronounce "Ariane" correctly
