I'd be completely sold on SKS if they had more induction burners than gas on the cooktop - and I can do without the sous vide given there are a lot of options for that already (including similar results using a combi steam oven). Ideally, I'd want a gas wok burner and the rest induction; could be sold on a infrared grill though for air quality probably better to grill outside. Their 48" French door refrigerator is super nice - I love the attention to detail. Looking forward to seeing how their line up evolves.

Im about to pull the trigger on the SKS suite, i went to buy Cafe appliances, but the SKS really impressed me. I was worried about replacement parts, but the SKS representative told me that LG/Signature now has a parts warehouse in the states.

I absolutely love the sks dual fuel but wish the souvvide was a griddle

No induction cooktop comparison?

I have never used a sous vide but I don't understand why everyone is complaining about it. It seems that type of cooking is fresher, healthier and tastier, unless you want a steak or hamburger. Just go to Costco and buy pre sealed sous vide meals and throw it in while you go thru your mail and change into your PJ's. Saves a lot of time for working couples with hungry kids. Plus sous vide doesn't require any additional chemicals or preservatives. I think it is a good option, given that 6 burners is more than enough to cover everything else.

I think most people are uncomfortable putting plastic in a heated environment. Microplastic leaching is already out of control.

Sub Z and Miele promote 20+ year longevity on their appliances. Fran recently commented that we should expect most appliances to break down within 7-10 years. Do you guys believe that brands like SKS and Thermador are closer to Sub Z and Miele in quality or closer to the 7-10 year lifespan? I know appliances are fickle but I’m asking big picture. Thanks!

Anyone can say 20 years...backing it up is another story. That said, I like both brands
@JohnLee-db9zt7 ай бұрын
lol sub Z and Miele will not last 20 years. My coworker has the 48 inch subzero refrigerator that broke down after 7 years, out of warranty, so he got stuck paying expensive repair bill. Maybe the old old sub Z lasted a couple decades. Not the new ones

I'm in the market for a 36" all gas range and I've narrowed down my choices to SKS, Thermador and Wolf. This video is very helpful but I still cannot decide! SKS has a better griddle and oven but Thermador seems like a safer choice from a service/reliability standpoint. Wolf BTU output isn't as strong and only has a single convection oven but the service is hard to beat. Help! I'm going crazy reading reviews trying to decide.

What do you like to do? SKS is an amazing unit for features, while the other two have better name recognition, etc

I love that SKS has the steam oven. I'm not interested in the sous vide. I'd like all induction or 4-6 induction 2 gas, etc. If they sold it with "modules," you could pick, it would be a winner. Sous Vide is a nice novelty thing to try, but I'd never pay for it in a range. Also, we want color choices, not just stainless. I did call SKS, and they acted like the Sous Vide was the most requested option out there. They are wrong.

I agree only because SKS is new.....but for features, you now have many brands to consider

They're both no doubt great appliance ranges. BUT: you'll have ONLY the boring, ubiquitous STAINLESS STEEL to choose from. No thanks.

I know...Then again, people will never recoil in horror looking at stainless

🔥🔥🖐👎🏻 We have all Thermador appliances for over ten years (fridge, oven, gas range, microwave. They look nice but are always breaking down, very expensive to service and replace. Thermador customer service is consistently horrible and offers no tech help or suggestions over phone except to immediately say they can arrange a service call. Terrible brand from a terrible company. Look elsewhere!
