The Honda Shadow 750 is a nice bike. Great to see you still riding! You are on the safer side of FL. I lived in Boca Raton for eight years, I would never ride a motorcycle in SE FL, the drivers are bat shiz crazy as hell there. My mom, who was once a driving instructor, quit driving after an accident in the FL that gave her PTSD. A guy in a truck ran into her car head on while she was stopped at a stop sign and totaled her car, she mad it out ok but was traumatized. I'm trying get her and my sister to move back to Ohio. lol

I can't ever see myself getting another naked bike as I've owned an MT07 and MT09 SP or much less getting an ADV or cruiser. I'll just keep my 2 fast bikes and my lil Grom as my stable.
@CycleCruza4 күн бұрын
Great to see you still riding. I find it enjoyable having a mix of different bikes but by far the most fun bike is my YZ450FX supermoto. The fast bikes make you speed which is like giving a crack pipe to an addict and telling him/her not to smoke it. lol I detailed that addiction in my "Throttle Crank Syndrome" video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXy5eKGgrZp_qJI I'm chill on ADV and Harleys as well, but I treat the MT-07 as my cruiser and love it. It has more bottom end grunt than a R6 ever had. You have to crank up the RPMs to get power out of a R6 as you know., amazing track weapon tho, it helped my cousin win races and become a professional racer.
@markettradinggenius3 күн бұрын
Brotha Cruza, what alot of people, especially 'newbies' don't realize is that when you are sitting on a sports bike, your back will automatically lean forward, which means you have to 'crank' your neck upwardly and after about 45 minutes of riding your neck starts to hurt. On top of that it's actually harder to turn your head to see 'side traffic' because the neck isn't meant to turn to the left or right while it's cranked upwardly. Now, get on an upright motorcycles and the neck problem and turning your head to the left and right issues are all gone !
@aluisious3 күн бұрын
That's true. I've been sitting bolt upright for 9 years on my Multistrada, it's great. I don't feel like I'm missing any realistic sporty ability on the road.
@markettradinggenius3 күн бұрын
@@aluisious That's good my man....my wife and I each got ourselves the new 2025 Triumph Rocket 3R Storm. Seating is as close to upright as you can get while still having that speed and 'out of this world' torque. The bike was meant to be as agile as the speed triple, but more stable and to test it out, we've gone up to 150 miles before hitting the fuel station :). Also, our bikes are so intimidative looking and looks incredibly heavy, that this alone keeps anyone from wanting to steal them...lol..

sport bikes look cool, they are light weight, have good electronics and tires. I think the naked bikes are the key really. They have all the sport bike benefits for the street and none of the drawbacks. honestly sport bikes are meant for riding on a track. There are so many different bikes I want just to experience them. It is really difficult to make an informed decision on what bike to get when you are just watching reviews and stuff.

I took my XSR900 to the track recently; other than an N3 shock and a largish fly windscreen (I know, contradiction in terms), it had no modifications and was as fast as I dared. Yeah, sportbikes are for the track but these hyper nakeds are just a tick behind while having ridiculously low insurance rates. In my selfish opinion, we should encourage go-fast people to go to sportbikes. Seasoned riders will ride naked bikes. If go-fast riders start buying naked bikes in vast numbers, then they'll start crashing them in vast numbers, bringing unwanted attention and higher insurance rates.

@@steve00alt70 The BMW S1000RR is the odd creature out. When it first came out, it was pushed to be a sportbike by BMW but eventually most people who bought it used it as a sport-tourer. Eventually, the S1000RR was offered with heated grips, cruiser control, and hard panniers (via Hepco & Becker), and the insurance rates are one of the lowest of the sportbikes. So people are not really buying the S1000RR as they would a Suzuki GSXR1000...they're buying them as more premium Suzuki GSXS1000's.

Biggest advice I can give to the younger/new inexperienced riders- Avoid group sport bike rides. It’ll make you ride beyond your skill level just to keep up with everyone. Ride your own ride and stick with closer friends who understand your beginner skillset. And dress for the slide, even if you’re “just going across town”. Keep the rubber side down and be alert out there please.

Naked bikes can save you from Harley hell, don't need ot go full on down the path of doom and eventually end up on a trike.

I hate to say this but I fear this outcome for 650ib and all his friends. These guys are really reckless! He's in his 50's and he should know better! I like the guy but damn!!

Actually, Donnny Brasco (who I mentioned in this video) that got killed while speeding was part of his crew. Some people get older but not wiser and have to learn the hard way. I hope not but the more you speed the closer you are to the grim reaper, it is like playing Russian roulette.

@@CycleCruza Yeah, I remember Donnie Brasco. Sadly it's just not if but when...You do you. Stay safe out there homie!!

I'm 51 , Love the sport bikes. I'm a Harley hater! Too expensive and the Harley Mentality almost killed my bro who rode a harley....now crashed.

The transition should NOT be to harley! It should be from Sport Bike to Sport Touring ❤ (fjr1300, st1300, Concours)

I remember when CycleCr 12:28 uza looked cool. Back in the old days he had the CB1000RR and he was cool. Now he's just another old fart on a slow bike. Next he will get a GS to ride to Denny's on😂

I never did a video on the transition from young to old rider. This video is in response to those commenters who clowned on me about acting like the old dude who says get off his lawn by talking down on superbikes in my "Superbike Poser" video. I've done a video on just about every topic on motorcycles over 14 years on KZbin. .

Been street riding for over 30 years and will never ride a Harley or any other cruiser, not because they are slow and heavy but to me they are uncomfortable compared to sportbikes. I know that sounds insane 😂, but with a tankbag I can just lay down on it like street Rossi and get a decent 500 mile day. Also supermotos are fun af!!!
