Great idea, Siri. But I think I would start taking a picture of every customer as they came through before I did any work on them. In this day and age everybody is trying to get something for nothing, and you would have the proof to forestall any problems. It's a shame people are so eager to cheat someone. Anxiously awaiting the next part of this Saga. But in the meantime have a super day!

My first experience with this kind of person was when I was a cake decorator in a grocery store. Someone ordered their own birthday cake. I took the order and decorated it. Went over everything. She wanted different shades of purple for the whole thing plus balloons and flowers with some yellow accents to cut the purple madness. I did exactly as asked and mixed up 5 or 6 different purples for the cake and everything. I wasn't there when she picked it up but she picked it up herself and approved it. The next day she returned the mostly eaten cake for a full refund claiming it was ugly. I was a new decorator and felt like a failure until I realised the truth that it was a scam

I've been in the exact same position! Cake decorator as well and had people come in doing the exact same thing. Some were repeat customers so you got the hang of some of them and how they are.

To be fair, I was once on the other side of this issue. I usually order Sam’s Club cakes for big parties because they’re consistently good and inexpensive. For my sons second birthday I wanted to get something a little more special and went to a local bakery for a custom Thomas the Engine cake. I paid over $100 but was okay with it because I was expecting a delicious cake. My husband went to pick it up the day of and had to wait over an hour and a half after the scheduled pick up time. When he arrived to the party with it, it was a generic Thomas design I had seen at the major grocery stores, not the agreed upon design. I was annoyed but it was fine, the point was to have a good time at my son’s birthday. When we went to cut the cake though, it was so so dry. No one cared to eat it and I couldn’t even give it away at the end of the night. I was so upset, beside it being late and the wrong design, i couldn’t believe how much I’d paid for such an awful cake. I called the bakery the next day and they said they could try to help me if I could take the cake back. The cake had been cut up and most of it was thrown in the trash by guests so there was nothing to do about it. I was so disappointed and although I’m sure this is not the norm for most bakeries, it turned me off from going to bakeries for custom cakes. They probably thought I was trying to scam them, but I wish they would’ve taken more responsibility. I’m pretty sure they forgot about my cake until my husband arrived for it and they just decorated any cake they had laying around which would explain why it was late, dry, and the wrong design.

@@crismore79 Unfortunately there are situations like that, that's where you get to the people who actually care about their job or not. Usually you can ask who is the most requested decorator, preferably don't ask one of the decorators cause you might not get an honest answer. lol Sometimes during certain holidays or if they are short staffed then yeah they might have to throw something together really quick but those times don't happen too often depending on where you go. Hopefully you give it another chance and don't let 1 time ruin it all. Most decorators enjoy what they do and are more than happy to make you happy. Good luck 🤞

YES! I've thought that for some time now myself. If people had to put in a year or two in some type of service industry, I'm guessing there'd be quite a drop in the Karen population. I worked in the restaurant business most of my life, & the amount of rude, sneaky, entitled people I've experienced would blow your mind. And yet I still went to work every day because the really wonderful people I met made it all worthwhile. I'm retired now... I don't miss the hard work, but I sure do miss many of the customers.

1. If someone doesn't know what dusting is, I don't book with them. 2. I have been growing out my hair from shaved for years, went for a shape up cut, showed 4 photos of the same cut of just above the shoulder hair, which was would be my length shaped up. She had my back to the mirror the whole time, and she gave me a pixie, but didn't charge me $40 for shampoo. (No. She knew she f*cked up)..I went to her because of her 5 star rating. What my dumb ass didn't see was it was for eyelashes and extentions.

I think it is so weird when people say that the stylist kept them turned away from the mirror the whole time. In the 45 years I've gotten my hair cut, I've always faced the mirror and would not allow it any other way.

I'm fairly surprised the sister was fairly reasonable at the end of this. Good thing though, because I probably would've just informed this woman that since she isn't her sister, she isn't getting her hair done, and as her sister didn't come in at her appointment, she'd be getting a cancellation charge (or no show charge, whichever) as the two of them deciding amongst themselves to swap is not an actual appointment change.

This literally happened to me only I wasn’t lying. I’m getting Matt and my regular stylist was on medical leave. I went to someone new and we spoke about where I was comfortable and where I was uncomfortable that jerk cut my hair to the level where I said I was uncomfortable instead of cutting it where I said I was comfortable. My wedding ended up getting moved up and I will never get the hair length back in time. I on the other hand did not demand extensions but I certainly canceled my next appointment with him. I get that this is a parody, but I’m also really tired of Hairstylist not listening to you setting very clear boundaries about the length that you want your hair cut.

Not sure about dusting but a glaze is also called gloss or toner. It’s the full pigment that is put in after lightening.

And "a light dusting" is a minimal hair cut with the primary goal of preventing split ends, also sometimes called a maintenance trim. It's called that because you end up with "light dusting" of tiny hairs on the cape.
