On wednesdays in kazakhstan they do active recovery and sit in saunas. Dont know why you guys keep mentioning drugs.

Oh, note about something you said about jerks: Florida high-school weightlifting was traditionally Bench + Clean & Jerk. They just introduced Snatch as a separate event (but total is still bench + C&J). We always trained Cleans on Tuesdays and Jerks on Wednesdays. *Never* trained them together until week before and of competition to practice our openers. Got really good results training them separately.

The movie is called "Catch me if you can" and fun personal fact about that movie: they filmed the laundromat scene at the laundromat down my street where I grew up in NY. I waited outside of it with a huge crowd after school to see Tom Hanks show up, wave at the crowd, and walk into the laundromat to film the scene. 🤙🤙

Interestingly for Kazakhstan and powerlifting, Boris Sheiko did his initial coaching powerlifting in Kazakhstan starting in 1991 after the breakup of the USSR, being a former weightlifting coach in the USSR days, and only moved to Russia in 1997. So in his first few years all of his athletes were Kazakhs, most notably Alexey Sivokon.

The commentary on these videos is fking great! Solid entertainment! And I think the guys shirt says “I love you for god” which makes no sense. But Ilya speed under the bar on those block snatches was BONKERS! So fast! And he went for that 190 what five times?! How is that possible?! Ohhhhhhhh yes drugs haha! Even funnier was when Gurph said everyone in the hall had been popped. But for real great video I love watching these with you guys.

So we know drugs work. That seems to be a point made by both sides over and over ad nauseam. Why are drugs bad again? Level playing field doesn't exist. You would think we would hear more stories about how drugs destroy peoples lives but we just hear how it made someone break a world record. That kinda seems like it supports the argument for drugs.
