@@sikastrength Thanks! I'm such a novice at S&C work I'm almost too novice to ask good questions (if you see what I mean). I need to keep working at the basics before asking any clever questions! (For example I have recently paused my first run at RTA to work on better mobility before re-starting with better form). Something that interests me from various of the Q&As is mention of your Neuromuscular Therapist. Perhaps he/she would make a good podcast guest? Or a small segment on what does/doesn't work in this area. I am not fully 'caught up' on older videos from before I settled in Sikastan, so am conscious this might have been covered!

I think the behind the back deadlift is also a good option for quad activation especially to simulate the quad control in the bottom position of the back squat
@sikastrength15 күн бұрын
Definitely a more novel one 😄

Is a front foot elevated bulgarian split squat also effective? Would think it would be due to adding a deeper range of motion from the elevated back foot

Especially if you're a grappler including that unilateral work is valuable. And mobility. Even when judo emphasises practicing both sides, you still favour your main side a lot and do more training on that side. I don't know if other grappling even bothers for both sides, but having some unilateral work and mobility practice got rid of my knee and ankle pain that was quite persistent (took almost 10 months or so to dissipate) that was made worse by judo and weightlifting. Both allow great compensation in mobility demanding positions and the result can be quite a poor pattern of movement.

I struggle with keeping tight during the entire lift. my knees don't cave and I push them out (that was the queue I always followed) but at the bottom I seem to relax. what do you suggest a work around to this is?
@sikastrength14 күн бұрын
Don't push your knees out, push them forward!
