Sikh charity feeding homeless people in London

A project to feed homeless people in London is reporting a major increase in those needing help.
The Sikh Welfare Awareness Team is serving almost twice as many meals as it used to a year ago.
Recent figures show that rough sleeping has gone up by thirty per cent across the country.

Long time ago I ate in one of the place called guru dwara while I was in UK out of curiosity, they served vegetarian food and whoever comes inside the main door was served. And I was totally moved by their hospitality, and I heartily thanked all the people involved there. They all had upgraded version of mind and heart.

A homeless very skinny woman who looked like 80 yrs old, came to my grandpa and asked for money. Grandpa said " Go in the gurdwara and eat food as much as you want" and the lady went in happily. These gurdwaras never close . I hope that poor lady filled her stomach which was impossible for years. U can even stay in gurdwaras. This moment happened a few years ago.😇🙃❤🙏🙏. I am lucky to be a sikh

Sikhs are the only people I’ve known on this planet who’ll fight for their religion as well as stand and fight to save others religion as well 🇮🇳✨❣️ I came to Canada 2 years ago for studies but trust me all my Sikh freinds and such a large Sikh community here they’ve always guided me and helped me whenever needed. I still remember when COVID hit I lost my job and couldn’t find a job for 3 months and at that time a Sikh family allowed me to stay in their house for that time and also they used to provide me with food and helped me find a job as well. Now I earn decent and everytime I say them why don’t you take money for all the food, the duration stayed for which I stayed free so they just have one answer to that and they say “bas guru ka aashirwad hai beta” and that’s where my respect for them keeps growing everyday. Sikhs are known to feed hungry, help whenever needed and the most important part of mankind. I’m a Hindu but I’ve been living with Sikh for over 2 years now and trust me I feel more loved and taken care of by this people. Sikhs you’re the best, may Waheguru bless all of us 🚩❣️🇮🇳

My grandfather was a soldier who fought in the second and third Indo-Pak wars, Subhedar Vithoji Rajaram Shelar, he was a soldier who also fought during the fabled battle of Longewalah, where 120 Indian army soldiers led by their Sikh commander Major Kuldeep Sinh Chaandpuri defeated an entire battalion of 1200 Pakistani soldiers who were equiped with 60 tanks. Till this day he remembers how bravely, him along with his Sikh, Maratha and Rajput comrades fought during the fierce battle, I saw him break down in tears when the news of Major Chandpuri's death broke out last year.

I’m a Hindu and if I ever change my religion it’ll be sikh. I’ve never seen another religion like them, they’re hardworking, humble, generous and I’m pretty sure several millionaires will be serving food in SWAT. I went to a gurudwara near Shimla, the main person was making sure everyone leaves the premises well fed and in the middle of the himalayas where it’s biting cold where even money cannot buy you food a gurudwara gave my family piping hot food cooked in hot spring water and it’s a meal I’ll never forget and I’m sure this religion is gonna survive anything thrown at them and come out stronger.

@amita singh I just read some of the comments and at each and every comments that said that they are proud that Sikhs are from India you are always there to Say...Hey Stop Please, Maybe they are Pakistani Sikhs.... ma'am with all due respect, you're dead wrong. There are only 6146 Sikhs in Pakistan according to 2012 census as compare to 21 millions Sikhs in India. And recent violence against them only going to further dim this numbers. So if someone says they are Sikhs from India...then they are pretty much right and it kinda make you wrong. So please Don't try to be Intellectual or Liberal or something... please 🙏 P.S. Love the Sikh people.Bravo! You won't find Mohammedans sharing anything with any non Mohamedan.I was invited to a large Sikh Temple & met gracious welcoming people.And the food served was delicious.Stayed for over two hours & enjoyed every minute.

You know what this is the reason all Sikhs wants to migrate to CANADA OR UK because they at least acknowledge what we do for the community we have been doing the same in our own country but instead of getting acknowledged we get bullied all the time and i am speaking this from personal experience I am 16 now and have been facing this since i was a child and that is the reason every sikh wants to migrate from their own country

During the muggles empire period that Sikhs helped hindus from Islamic persecution and this caused martyrdom of their life. Our elders protect hindus mother's & sisters from muggles and bring back their home. The total contribution of Sikhs in India struggle for freedom is revealing: out of 121 patriots hanged 93 were Sikhs. Of the 2626 awarded life imprisonment 2147 were Sikhs... Considering that the Sikhs were hardly 1.5 percent of the total population of India at the time. Our sacrifices amounted to 90 percent. And what we got in return from India 1984 when thousands of Sikhs being killed and our mother's & sisters being raped by hindus. No my friend what you said is not enough...
