Silage 2024 - Mowing with Massey Ferguson & John Deere 1327 Mower

Taken a week ago and here we see a classic farms outfit mowing grass for their one cut silage. Farms equipment mowing some meadow grass for silage with their Massey Ferguson 3085 and John Deere 1327 mowing a short but thick crop of grass, in the last field. Lifting to come with their Ford New Holland 8340 on the Reco Mengele chopper. Filmed in Hampshire, UK. Watch in HD for best quality.

Lovely massey Tim, is the grass for beef cattle, big problem with the rain up here, grass past its best to soft and the docks are seeding too, cheers Steve .

Thanks Steve, yes it's for beef, used to be dairy but only doing 1 silage cut a year. 2nd goes for hay. Thankfully still plenty leaf on it so some quality but it is lower. Getting quite dry here now, warm temperatures this week and following week.

When did you mow this grass? it looks blooming and quite old.

This was mown about 2 weeks ago. Yes it had gone to head but still had some life in it with leaf in the bottom and still quite green in the swath. Not as young as some grass but it went to head very quickly and early.
