And Page had been a successful studio musician for years already at this point… He was so successful as a studio guitarist that when The Yardbirds called to ask him to replace the departing Eric Clapton he declined, but he did send them Jeff Beck… and Jeff Beck is a legend.

@@vrvaughn yup, he actually joined the yardbirds on bass lol then went dual lead with beck, the band fell apart around jimmy and he created zeppelin from the ashes

@@Scoobydcs Too true. But first they asked him to join as the lead guitarist .. but I guess he had so manny sessions booked that he recommended Beck… then he joined as bass .. then when Beck didn’t show for a gig because of some perceived snit he was in Page took over… Zeppelin was originally going to be dubbed the New Yardbirds and story (or legend) has it that Keith Moon said it would go over like a Lead Zeppelin.. hence the name. And now that I’ve said that I’m going to look it up… instead of before I post it 😉😂🤣😂

@@vrvaughn yeh he turned them down 1st time due to being busy with seessions. when the yardbirds split they left jimmy with aband name and atour but no band lol, he got jpj robert and bonzo together and they actually toured initially as the new yardbirds re the name iv heard moon saying theyd go over like a lead balloon and iv heard it was entwhistle who actually said it. (they were talking to jimmy about splitting from the who and forming a band with him)

@@Scoobydcs lead balloon true .., Entwistle and Moon.. true.. They fulfilled some Yardbird contractual agreements in Europe and then one of the original Yardbirds issued a cease and desist on the name,.. hence, the change… and they approached Terry Reid to be the lead singer and he referred them to Plant who brought in Bonham…

I forget the guys name that recommended to Jimmy hey there's this singer up north you should check out. Jimmy did. And we are so so glad it worked out that way. I believe Bonzo was playing at Roberts gig too. I mean really you can't invent a better storyline than that. How incredible it would have been to see that moment, and also the first time the got together and just played! The world was not ready for Zeppelin!

A big ME TOO to that Mr. Smith. Re-directed my whole musical outlook about 4 seconds after lowering the stylus on to "Good Times, Bad Times". About 4 of their other albums I rank just a hair below this album - simply the reality of how great they consistently remained after this stunning debut.

I really like this song. Besides Page's playing, Plant's vocals are crazy. It's classified as both rock and proto-punk rock. Page developed the riff before the band had formed, and it was one of the first songs they worked on after they did. Glad you liked it! :) LZ's music really is timeless. Their songs have been used in a lot of movies, three in just the past year. It's always a kick to catch an LZ song in the middle of watching a movie and now, if you're a movie goer, you'll start catching them too. Edit: I read somewhere that their music has been used in 15 different movies in just the past 10 years.

Another legendary group you should react to is Pink Floyd. Of course you know that name very well, but we don't know did you ever listen their music. One of the main important thing is that top Pink Floyd albums should be listen entirely if want to grab the experience most. In my opinion best three albums to check that way are: "Dark Side of the Moon", "The Wall" and "Wish You were here". All of them are a kind of musicals, a theatrical performance in the form of music - especially "The Wall". Therefore, it is better to listen them in full. If you have time to do this, just do it. It will be very good experience for You.

New subscriber, here. Hope to see you departing from the "normies," who all copy each other in their reaction videos. How about a complete album review of Toe Fat 2, 1971. Sensuous ear candy hard rock n' roll. It was great music, even though few still know of this group to this day. I generally don't subscribe to reaction video channels. Departing the mediocrity of "copycats" might keep me subscribed to you.

You're pranking us right? I was a rock radio DJ in 1971 and I didn't think I'd missed anything. And to miss "sensuous ear candy hard rock n' roll" that lives on 50 years later. Very intriguing. If this exists I'm going to find it and take me in some Toe Fat!
@timothyraywalls72612 жыл бұрын
I don't prank. Original Toe Fat lineup included: Formed in June 1969, the band was fronted by former Rebel Rouser Cliff Bennett and, in the course of its two-year, two-album career, featured lead guitarist and keyboardist Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep); bassist John Glascock (who replaced original bassist John Konas (Joseph Stanley Konas)); and drummer Lee Kerslake. Two albums: Toe Fat and Toe Fat 2

@@timothyraywalls7261 Thanks for opening the door. I think you know that I did not really think you were pranking, just some concern either with my own memory, or wonder as to how I could be so ignorant of them. During that time I was surrounded by musicians, listened to everything I knew about, read everything in at least most of the noted rock press at the time, and the record companies sent me the promo copies. I will hunt it down and take a good listen.

When I was a teenager, this was one of my least favorite songs from this album. Over the years it has flipped to being one of my favorites. I love the speed and the energy. Black Sabbath always gets the nod for being the inventors of metal, but these guys played a big role, too.
