All that equipment was to be left for the Afghan Army who were supposed to take control after the American withdrawal. When the Taliban took control there were no arrangements in place to evacuate that equipment and it was considered too dangerous to send in resources in the middle of a withdrawal to retrieve it. We did the same thing in WWII, WWII, Korea & Vietnam. The problem is material costs more today. My dad was on a supply ship returning from Korea when trucks, tanks, guns and ammo were tossed overboard in the pacific. Chill out, America!
