Unfortunately it seems we were beaten by deliberate military incompetence in order to drag out the war. The military industrial complex kept making money as long as troops were in bases and occasionally running over roadside bombs. Notice U.S. Congress never formally declared war, we just aggressively occupied a country for twenty years. Oil, war profiteering, live weapons testing, etc. Oh and opium production, that's my other favorite little factoid about post 9/11 Afghan. Put simply, our government went there to carry out acts of evil and greed. God help us all.

Then not too long after the ISIS folks come out of Syria and first started killing the Christian Arabs (Azidis) and displacing who the didn’t catch into the mountains. Then down through the dessert basically in a couple columns sacking everything and everybody in their path. Including the Iraqi army, who left the American supplied logistics for ISIS to take. Nothing like what Harris and Biden left fo the Taliban to use. The whole time they could have been taken out from the sky but were just left alone to take back a lot of Iraq in a very short amount of time. There was a small contingent of US military at that base but they were ineffective to fight a terrorist force. After President Trump had been elected, he used assets in Syria and put assets back in Iraq and in about 6 months, had basically wiped ISIS out. Made them ineffective for the time being. Yeah, I believe that’s about how that happened. Yep. Think so.....
