Thanks for a nice walk through some of the great records on the Silence label. Fitted my mood perfectly since I just read the book "Träd, Gräs Och Stenar: A Collective History" wich I recommend for anybody interested in the early swedish alternative music scene.

Good evening from Edinburgh Jonas!! What a wonderful video concerning the Silence Label, luckily i have some of the albums you mention on cd as i'm not a Vinyl buyer, because honesty i couldnt afford it, so cds have been the medium i listen to music for over 30 years, but i enjoy seeing others showing their records, particularly the magical music you show on your channel from the late 60s/early 70s! I'd love to see more Swedish albums from this time period,as those albums are very rarely seen anywhere, never mind the Vinyl Community on youtube! Your Channel IS one of the best on youtube,along with Psychederek channel, you're BOTH very knowledgable, enthusiastic, humble and down to earth, with fantastic Records that i'll NEVER see in my life living here in Edinburgh, Scotland. Thank you very much Jonas,i enjoy your channel very much, keeping it real, keeping me interested and indeed entertained!!👍

That was really nice to hear, glad you like what I do. Putting these videos together is a labor of love for sure! I will probably show more Swedish LPs in the future, so stay tuned. I just hope I can live up to your expectations now, haha! Anyway, thanks for tuning in and writing this wonderful comment. Cheers Stuart!

Anna Själv Tredje is right up my alley as a synth-freak. I have the 80's reissue, with that pink "Svinbilliga kultvax"-sticker. Great showcase Jonas!
@vinylstockholm7 күн бұрын
Hi Jens! Yes, Anna Själv is great, I don't have it but I'm looking, I just love that album cover! I know that classic "Kultvax" sticker, you can find it on Älgarnas Trädgård reissue from the 80s as well. Thanks for tuning in, take care!

Indispensable video Jonas. Was so happy to see it come through this afternoon. I guess the only original Silence lp I have is Stenblomma which I quite like, though some of it is only ok. Beautiful label design on that one though. I personally love the Harvester stuff, even though it is rough and crude. And I think the archival box set of Parson Sound is amazing too, though of the same quality. What a great list though. A few I was completely unaware of, and some of the others in name only. I will be consulting this list and trying to check these off. Simply because I love their approach and style they were coming up with in the 1970s. "Trippy" is the big word that comes to mind and seems to unite them all. I do have Lord of the Rings, but the common US edition. I simply love that Swedish original cover. Pretty cool reissue you have there too of Handgjort. Also, what was the song you utilized for the title cards repeatedly throughout the video? But again, an essential watch this one. Great work! I suppose I have a lot of work to do to track these down. Probably need to visit your country to do it!

Thanks Dom! I have been thinking about doing this video since this summer when we talked about Silence in the comments. I'm clearly not the fastest KZbinr, haha! But glad you liked it. I also love the Harvester stuff, I'm still looking for the first Träd Gräs Stenar. And Pärson Sound is pretty wild for being mostly from 1967. Stenblomma got 2 votes in my little poll so it just missed the top 10. I've had it before but sold it, I should listen to again as I don't remember it very well. Yes, trippy is a good word to describe much of it, at least the albums on this list. The song I used is "Frestelser I Stan" by Kebnekajse, from their first LP "Resa Mot Okänt Mål", (on the third spot on the list), a great instrumental rocker. And you know, I can always assist if you're looking for something special from over here, but you're more than welcome if you want to visit 😊
@seekingathread6 күн бұрын
@@vinylstockholm I am happy to see that the Kebnekajse is much cheaper than I thought. And what a cover too. I will have to pluck that one from Discogs very soon, after I stream the whole thing of course but I trust the Swedish heads when it comes to this list. Everything in the list will get a good look, if I haven't looked already.

Jonas, I have no Silence label records, so very interesting to see the "official" top 5 records on the label. Thanks, Chris
@vinylstockholm6 күн бұрын
Haha "Official" is a dangerous word to use in the VC right now, so I go with "ultimate list". Haha. Thanks for tuning in Chris!

Hi Jonas, again a great and very informative video! Thanks for mentioning the amazing Ragnarök record again, it’s really an amazing album and it would be in my Top 5 Silence Records list, along with both of the early Kebnekaise records (Resa mot okänt mal is such a killer-track, those fancy highly-pitched alone are worth the Vinyl to go for🤘)! Thanks for sharing those incredible information, will definitely check out the Älgarnas Trädgård stuff👍📻🤘🙌😎! Greetings, have a nice evening 👯♂️📻🎧☕️

Hello again. Just wanted to say I agree with Bo Hanssons first as nr one. Monument was my first bought album and Träd, Gräs och Stenar was always better live than on records....in my view....
@vinylstockholm7 күн бұрын
Hi Hasse! So cool that Hansson och Karlsson was the first album you bought! Haha, what a start. I wish I had seen TG&S live, I have heard that they were great live.

Strange that Handgjort get’s so many votes, in my ears boering, leading nowhere and that lp should really be my cup of tea, I love hazy music otherwise.

Hi Daniel, many people like it. It got 3 votes, so they didn't make it to the top 5. Thanks to tuning in :)
