Good evening. Just took delivery of a Bearpaw Creed. What a beautiful, tactile bow. Thanks for the recommendation.

Excellent choice, you’ll love it, it’s a lovely shooter, and extremely fast, I don’t use any of my other bows now 😁 Enjoy, all the best, Steve

Hi Steve. Hope you’re well? If you would like a suggestion for another video, how about “is string walking the beat way to shoot a traditional bow?” The reason I ask is that my new Creed bow is 2# lighter draw than my current aluminium riser/ ILF setup. However when I shoot the Creed with 3 fingers under the nocking point, it seems sweeter, more accurate and faster than the other bow. However, when shooting shorter distances, say 25m, I have to string walk at least 4 or 5cm down the string when I target the point of the arrow on the gold of the target. When I stringwalk, the bow sounds harsh and the feedback isn’t smooth. Therefore, a video on the best way to target an arrow whilst shooting a traditional bow without string walking would be great. The only solution I can think of is to aim much lower than the gold, and use intuition / the Force (which isn’t currently 😅ne of my skills). Cheers. Mike

Hi Mike, all good here, as I hope are you. To be honest I’ve never tried string walking, so I’d be the wrong person to try and make a video on the subject, however, I can well understand how moving the anchor point down the string would alter the characteristics of the bow. I personally have always shot entirely instinctively, as in I don’t aim at all, I simply look at what I want to hit and let instinct do the rest. I’ve tried aiming techniques in the past, all be it very briefly, out of curiosity more than anything, but it never felt natural, and as I was happy with my results as an instinctive archer I never felt the need to change anything, I may at some point explore aiming, but I’ve always been a big believer in the old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it”, and so it may not be anytime soon. I wish I could be of more help on this subject. All the best, Steve

Well done 👍 just to add , limb savers recurve dampers and arrow that weighs at least 12 grains per pound to make the bow almost silent 🤫.

I haven’t tried those, but I’ll look into them at some point, that said, I always try and limit arrow weight to a max of around 10gpp, as an instinctive archer I think I’d struggle with the steeper trajectory of heavier arrows, I couldn’t even tell you my point on distance, I shoot purely on feel.

@@chroniclesofahalfwit I shot instinctively as well and all my bow are around 50#’s and I shoot 600 to 650 grain arrows for hunting and 460 for target and it’s noticeable how much louder they are with lighter weight arrows.👍😁 Also B55 and spectra 652 are quieter string materials vs 8125 and D97 or other blended materials.👍😁🎯🏹

@anthonyforfare7223 good to know, do you mind me asking what spines you shoot? I’m shooting 400’s at the moment with an overall weight of 445grn, but it sounds like I need to give heavier arrows a try 👍

Thanks Scott, it was just a quick video to help another KZbinr out, I’m definitely no expert, but I was happy to share the methods I use to keep noise to a minimum, always glad to offer help when I can 🙂
