And btw, I took a few YEARS - yes, you read that right, YEARS - to beat the first game. I'd play 20 min until I found a save point and then turn it off and not play it for MONTHS LOL. The dread you feel all the time. That feeling that something will happen, jump at you. I was relieved when there was a monster, cause I could deal with it and that was it. But when it was quiet... oh boy, my imagination drove me crazy hahaha.

I thought I was the only one who thought the horror portion of Conker was VERY creepy. The noises, the LACK of music almost in the first portion. The fact that you have to let the enemies get close to end them more easily. The part where you have to bring the keys and are defenseless (unless you took every enemy out first). Surprisingly tense.

You know another thing that scared the hell out of me? The undead monsters from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. They'd jump on you and there would be that scream sound... Spooky.

7:15 "like a brick" is such an apt descriptor for how YT handles the vast majority of its practises. They handle demonitising with the grace of a brick. They communicate their policies worse than a brick could. They break stuff while implementing pointless, unwanted 'features' about as well as a brick smashed into a computer would do! -12:03 such an unfortunate choice of words. I played Morrowind a little before doing Daggerfall. I played RDR2 before 1. And irrational fear as a kid is normal i think or at least not weird. I was terrified of this red light on the answering machine. One time i was really sick and ran to puke at night and all i can remember is looking up at that light when in a fevered sick state. The image is still burned into my mind like a branding iron. Then one of the kids my mom watched in daycare had a phobia of vacuum cleaners yet he had this vacuum owners manual VHS tape. I remember his mom never sent him anywhere with it and multiple times that was the "movie" we had to watch. Actually really ****ed up in retrospect but kinda funny

"as a kid i was terrified" ... and then mentiones Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Conquers Bad Fur day, i have no mouth and i must scream... all games NOT for children xD i was around 16 or so when i played SH for the first time. I did play Resident Evil 1 and the sequal which was banned in Germany btw several years before (by broad daylight of course i mean we were like 13 and of COURSE we were not scared by a VIDEOGAME... if we played it by daylight). One time i tried to play it in the evening in my room, lights out, closed the windows and the shutters and played THIS game.... for not long maybe an hour after i said "okay i MIGHT leave a light on ... i mean it's bad for your eyes to play in the dark!!!" Funny enough SH2 was way to confusing for me to scare me i didn't understand the story. SH3 was... nice and weird but also not "scary" but in a weird way SH4 did creep me out. It may be that because i played it way late when i did my civil service and was in a small room far away from home that i kinda felt more creept by the idea that i am now in a room that i don't know and the room itself is scare that this part resonated with me more i don't know. I mean i was "locked" in this room, in a city i didn't knew anybody except for my co workers and my boss and i could't just simply ask my friends to come over. I was alone there and SH 4 kinda hit the right spot

Sure I don't mind at all, pal. I used RetroArch (I haven't emulated in a LONG time and friends recommended it). I used the "PCXS reARMed" core (it's essentially the PS1 emulator within RetroArch) and I used the filter (this is a big one bare with me) - "NTSC-320px-svideo-scanline.slang" (and when that one started to break for whatever reason I switched to the same thing only WITHOUT the scanlines). For me this all kinda went over my head and I honestly STILL don't quite understand RetroArch or any of it's features but it is a good "all-in-one" program and I think if you're into emulators and understand that stuff you'll most likely enjoy RetroArch, especially for those filters hahaha it has a TON of them for all different types of things. Truthfully mine WAS running on RetroArch. I used "PCXS reARMed". I think everything was set to whatever default setting it has. A few friends told me to do it like that since I haven't used emulation in years. I used to use ePSXe. Truthfully I'm pretty dumb when it comes to emulation and stuff. It was a miracle I even got RetroArch to work hahahaha Not sure if that helps at all but if it at least points you in the right direction then I was happy to help.
