*Edit* - Patch 1.04 came out and fixed this issue, patch did both things I recommended below (Update DLSS and change preset) So you don't need to do this anymore. *Original Text* - Game comes with version 3.5.10 by default, which is not that old version but main issue is that it uses Preset D for Quality, Balanced and Performance mode (Preset B for Ultra Performance) and the result is very heavy ghosting. Same can be fixed by update DLSS to latest version 3.7.20 and then changing preset to E, note that both steps are required, guide given below for both. Preset E eliminates most of ghosting, some does remain but is hard to notice in real time, E also offers better image stability in comparison to C (00:41) so my suggestion would be to use Preset E. Auto exposure comparisons someone was asking, so I included them with this, it is set to on by default and is best left to On only in this game. Scroll down to 3rd section - DLSSPresets 9. Use pull down menu to change default to whichever preset you intend to use. It’s still early days for this game, hell, technically it’s not even out yet. Wouldn’t be shocked if in one of the many inevitable updates there’s an upscaler upgrade for dlss 3.7 and fsr 3.1 as well as frame generation in general. For now though, without any modifications, xess is the way to go

Thank you very much for the thorough tutorial. I did as explained, everything works, except I dropped a considerable amount of FPS. With RayTracing ON and DLSS 3.7.10 I was having 50-60fps before, now with RayTracing ON and DLSS 3.7.10 I get 30fps or less... on RTX 4060Ti. Also tried different nVidia drivers, all the same.

@@HDico2013 fps can be different in different sections, compare in same location, you can also easily swap back and remove mod files, however changing version dll or changing preset never affects fps, you can confirm this by going back to 3.5.10 and removing mod files. Whatever issue you have is unrelated to this.

Thing is, this ghosting happens even without any temporal nonsense enabled at all. So I don't know what is going on here, but what 3.7.20 has is basically as good as it is going to get until they fix whatever is causing the ghosting trails. Unless it is inteded.

you might wanna check your monitor its possible you have bad response time which is typical in VA panels. IPS and TN are better for gaming monitors but dont have good contrast like a VA does but have very minimal ghosting especially its a very fast one. Many Sample and Hold displays have some degree of ghosting. OLED is the best you can get if you want the least amount of ghosting

Forcing preset via NPI NEVER seems to work for me in UE5 games. I always have to use DLSS Tweaks. It just stays at preset D if I try the NPI method. This happens in every single UE5 game for me, every non-Unreal Enfine game works fine though.

@@S2GamesBench Whether it's preset F or preset E, the ghosting is extremely noticable on my end, either way. What seems to make it at least _bearable_ and keep me from just refunding it, is putting DLSS to ultra performance, or whatever it's called. That removes most of it, but it's still there, just not that bad any more. A bad first impression, but hope it gets better with time, but in the graveyard, at the beginning of the game, it's there, no matter what I do.

How are you able to use DLSS 3 on an RTX 3070? Does it not default to DLSS 2? That's probably why you're experiencing these issues in quality. DLSS 3 is restricted to 40 series gpu's only. You should consider use of FSR.

DLSS3 is not limited to 40 series, stop spreading misinformation. Only FG is limited to 40 series. And that's not in this game.

my brother in Christ pls upload in 4k, youtube is butchering all the details essential to noticing E vs C difference - there are not much to begin with, but still I.E. For some games C is preferable (Witcher 3, as E just makes grass a noise fest)

ghosting will always exist. They need to give up on these upscallers because its been making optimization for games worse. It's not black magic either, it's just a lower render resolution stretched to your monitors resolution
