Was able to get to an average of 60 fps on my rx 6900 xt by reducing shadows and shader to medium. Using FSR 3 quality + Frame Generation lets me play at a steady 120 fps.

You are set. Don't play anything on ultra/epic settings ever. If you play at 1440p always use DLSS Quality. 4K always DLSS Performance. Done.

Something is wrong. I'm playing on native ultra 1440p without rt with my 7900 xtx. And I never drop below 70fps. It's running on aqua bios but even a stock bios should be a way more higher than 56 AVERAGE lol

This is crazy and a testament to just how bad UE5 is because the game doesn't even look that great. It by no means looks bad, however, there are games much older that look the same if not better and are far easier to run. Go play the Evil Within and it's sequel. They look just as good and are very easy to run.

Sorry TPU but something went wrong in this benchmark. The AMD / Nvidia performance difference (rt off ) is just not what other benchmarks and my own benchmarks show. Are you sure you didnt mix AMD rt on with Nvidia RT off in that chart?

This benchmark is not accurate at all. I don't know where are they getting this data from but it's complete doo doo. I have a 6800XT and without supersampling on 1440p I get 50 - 60 FPS and I do not even have X3D CPU. Using FSR boosts my performance to 75-90 and even over 100 in some areas. Plus I just saw a comparassion of 3080 vs 4070 on 1440p with RT ON and those gpus were getting 65+ FPS.

they using 14900k thats the main problem. 7800x3d is a must. FASTEST GAMING PROCESSOR and if you disable SMT u get way faster cpu

you can force FSR 3 frame gen in this game, although this option is not available in settings. And I would reccomend to set shadow quality to low. It boosts fps significantly and the game looks practically the same

I believe there is a mistake with these benchmarks. Vram usage was probably taken only from nvidia gpus testing. Playing on my rx 7600 on medium settings the usage commonly spikes up to 8gbs at least on later levels

how did you test vram usage? 0:20, in my playthrough 15 minutes in the game, it used around 12gb on my rx 7900gre with 3440x1440 and high texture setting, so weird

DLSS should be enabled which they’ve just not bothered even mentioning. The game looks no worse and in some ways better, and the performance is superior. My 3080 goes from 45fps at 1440p to way over 60fps with dlss quality enabled.

Well it runs on a 3080 in 1440p dlss balanced, medium details, no rt, to never drop under 60 fps.. im playing with the 1st person mod, and with higher settings, the game response became so slow at times that i couldnt hit enemies properly and got killed repeatedly.. When outdoors, i switched dlss to quality

you got a problem some ware because I got a 3080ti @ max with 4k with little issues. was told to lock the frame rate to reduce the stuttering but I only really experienced it @ the prison. rest of the game ran fine

What's the point of giving RT on fps scores for only 4K Epic settings? ...... Only 4% of gamers use 4K. 25% use 1440p, so why not give us 1440p RT fps scores with epic settings, and 1080p has even higher adoption. Then you need to add DLSS and AMD FSR etc.

Unreal engine has been a dumpster fire for years now, but because so many developers uses their engine, there’s no push to optimize it. Shader stutter compilation, and data streaming stutter is the norm now basically. It’s funny because one of the talking points was that ps5 pro will push gamers to PC, but crap like this will probably push PC gamer to consoles. You can’t win on either sides now.

TechpowerUp needs to bring upscaling back into their reviews. Who plays cutting edge new games on native at high resolution unless they have 4090 or such. Almost everybody will use upscaling just to have smoother gameplay and a cooler case / room. It seems like TPU is doing these reviews for purely demonstrating the performance differences between GPUs. Those type of benchmarks are ok, especially when new GPUs come out. Whereas, some people like me look at benchmarks to see ballpark for their currently owned card. This doesnt help at all. UE5 is very demanding and squezes a lot of performance from upscalers compared to other engines.

This has been fixed after @Daven reported it in our forums. Not sure if that was you. The underlying reason was a coding mistake during a code migration. When the votes were tallied, they didn't get sorted first, so the wrong counts were linked to the answers. Adding OrderBy() solved the issue and the results output is correct now, no data was lost or corrupted. An extra character at the end of the Discussion link caused a 'page not found' error, this is fixed now, too.
