@@harlowsvideos3992 exactly, the nice filter it’s just on James’s mind but once he accepts the truth he sees the reality of the hotel

@ I just finished the game for the first time and I’m glad I didn’t stop because of the puzzles. The story is too good to miss. Also I guess that note you find that says to ‘empty room 312, no one is returning’ was written by James?

He did it out of pity, frustration, and hatred. When Mary found out that she was dying, she lashed out at her friends and family, especially James. She cut off virtually all intimacy with him, and by the time she accepted her fate, she was bedridden. James was resentful, and wanted to move on with his life. He knew Mary wanted an end to her suffering, so he decided to take her life, believing it would lift the burden from his shoulders. Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect. James could no longer live with himself, so he brought Mary's body to her "special place", Silent Hill, where he intended to end his own life. However, the town had other plans for him...

Still love to believe that James killing mary wasn't an act of free will rather he was in some way being manipulated into doing so, whether that be under the influence of a substance, or just the town itself

Same, but not in that way. I like to believe he did it in a spur of the moment out of uncontrolled rage. It was free, but not completely free, will.

I think the original really did do this better. You're made to feel so much more uncomfortable with her smothered screens and clearly seeing what James did.

You kidding me? I could barely see what James did in the og while in the remake you can see almost everything. The only thing I like more in the og is the music and the camera movement around James, sitting on the chair, for a few seconds to let the emotions sink in. In the remake you have almost no time to realise what happened.

@@IXkupo Yeah, I watched the original, and unless you knew what was happening, it's hard to tell what he did. In the remake, it's much more clear
