It's amazing to think that the fog in the original Silent Hill was firstly implemented as a way to mitigate the hardware limitations of the time, but then it turned into such an identity of the series that, in my opinion, no horror game will ever come close. Really looking forward to playing this one, this series shaped the gamer I am today. And the person, to be honest, as nowadays I'm a published horror writer. Keep up the good work, Brad!

@@eternalbliss3487 I would say thats not entirely true, Fog that was used in older games was to increase fps by limiting how far you can see, that still exists in new games and works the same without causing FPS drops. But when they decide to rather have it as a visual effect then ofcourse they want to make it look good too by using graphically intensive effects.

I was 25 in 2001 and got SH2 because I had SH1 from '99. I was kinda mad it didn't follow Sh1's story at the time, but the more I got into it, That feeling left me. Sh2 has stayed with me even until now. I'm glad I'll get to play it again at 48, and happy it's looking like a great game remake.

A little detail I like is that James doesn't become numb with his grunts when killing enemies. You can hear his desperation between each swing and struggle. Like he's just trying his best to make sure it's dead and all that.

Murphy Pendleton is one of my favorite game protagonists ever. While SH1 will always be the series best to me, I felt Downpour had the far more complex father protagonist. Harry Mason never wavered from his mission: Find and rescue my child. Murphy, having already lost his child, really had to wander and reflect to find cause. I will also be forever haunted by the Blue Ribbon sidequest conclusion.

The fog lets them maximize the look and graphics of the areas you are able to see at whatever given time. I like that. And I know a lot of games cut off lines of sight and stuff like that to limit how much has to be rendered at once but I really like the sharpness and crispness of this games graphics.

It says how he tried the numbers progressively in sequence and gives you the last number tried. Then at the bottom it says in caps how he "feels he's so close now" and is "almost there".

I rarely comment on brads videos but i start watching the channel when he played the game before he started murdered soul suspects, the silent hill series came out when i was a teenager aswell im 36 on sunday i fell out of love with gaming from 22 to about 31 then i bought a ps4 and bought the old versions of these games and played them the memories were amazing then I started playing fifa and realized EA are all about the money and all the games stayed the same then i started on the souls/borne/elden games and the witcher and ive been hooked since and i must say the time i spend on my computer has kept me out of trouble. Brad, For perspective, I have been here since you played Dead Space 2 like 13 years ago. I was just a teenager then and I always loved watching you, love your personality and play style and how interactive you are with your fans. Watching you throughout middle school and highschool gave me endless hours of entertainment and distraction. Now, here I am, 13 years later. A husband and father of 4 with 9 years in the army and I still love watching you. I’m sorry that I don’t usually react or comment, I just get so distracted I usually just watch the video and then I’m onto the next video in the series or the next series. 1984s Ghostbusters was my favorite movie as a kid, so much so that every time we went to our local VHS shop back in the 80s i always asked for Ghostbusters. My mum and dad actually banned me from watching it because they were so sick of renting it out for me lol. So i saved up my pocket money to buy the VHS tape from Woolworths for my birthday, sadly i watched so much that the tape eventually gave out. Now i have it on DVD 😄

Sony does it with all their games that why SquareEnix is done only putting games on PlayStation and won’t be doing the 2 year PlayStation to pc anymore. After I’m sure all the deals they made are up like FF7 remake first was only PlayStation then it went only to Epic store for the first disc of it now it seems they are gonna release it on epic and steam same time now for the second one but still had to wait 2 years or more for it to go to PC.

Brad i been watching your videos since the walking dead games, the one with Dayrl Dixon. I'm not a person to sit down watch TV or movies. I find paying attention is hard but that never happens with your videos throughout all these years I watched every series you post. I rarely comment but I like all the videos of course. You've been my main source of entertainment and you rarely talk of your personal life but seeing you progress in general is amazing. Thank you for staying true to yourself and to us all these years. I was a kid watching your videos, now I'm 28. Thanks for growing up with me and making the world feel a little less harsh.
