I’m actually excited with this trailer. Bloober said that they were going to keep the story for the most part the same. It was even to the point that when the original director asked if they could add more to the story they said no in fear that it could possibly ruin the story.

@@SeanSebastianBeauge the Netflix one probably stays more faithful but from what I’ve seen still has a few changes. But it won’t be a problem with the game though cause it was a game to begin with. Like ik Avatar was a show but it was animated and taking something animated and converting it to live action isn’t gonna feel the same.

@@Jekoza honestly I find it a positive. Unless you emulate or have the OG game still there’s no real way to play the OG faithfully. Also as of recent news it seems like they are doing new things in some ways. Apparently there are gonna be an additional 3-4 endings with the original 6 endings.

If someone needs a first exposure to Silent Hill, it should be the first game. Silent Hill 2 is technically and critically exceptional, but SH1 is criminally underappreciated by the general public.

In some aspects, yeah, I can agree, but it's sort of understandable how they decided to go with 2 first. Hopefully it will be enough of a success that they will give 1, 3 and 4 similar amount of respect. With the other games in the series to me it seems they would have to re-imagine more. If you go back to SH1 and SH2 then you'll notice that in the first there is a lot less character animation to follow. They will have to make their own interpretation of the characters, their movement, probably be much more creative if they want to have the amount of cutscenes that are a standard now. To turn that into a "20 hour game" as they claim the new SH2 is. they would have to build much more from the ground up. In many of the important story scenes in the original, the character models were barely moving. With the others in the series as well. I'd be especially interested in what they would do with 3 and 4. 4 especially had amazing ideas, but as a full game it had aspects missing. That game fleshed out in creative hands could be a masterpiece of innovative game mechanics. With 1 and 3 it's interesting how they would handle the religious aspects. It was pretty clear the "evil cult" was in many ways a stand-in for other religions. I'd be very interested to see how boldly they could tackle the parts about birthing a god from a virgin, the fears of pregnancy, also the element of abortion. A lot of the religious people (especially in US I guess) could be rubbed the wrong way and that is so important a part about these games, to be brave about tackling these dark aspects of religion without making it be "just an evil cult". Bloober are from Poland as well, and in Poland religion is pretty big. I personally would be supre excited to see them try to tackle the other games in the series.

@@udopadrik9971 I honestly don't care about this remake or any others that might follow. If it turns out good then more power to them, but I'm not interested. I'm only here to get RM's take on this. Konami is remaking this one because of its recognition. They've been milking SH2 for decades now and it's been old for a long time. The originals are fine as they are and I encourage everyone to play them. Even if you like what they do with this one or any of their new projects, play the old ones. Emulate them if you have to, but play them. Even 4 for its faults is worth it. Frankly it gets more hate than it deserves. If the only thing stopping you is "old game is old" you're doing yourself a disservice. Konami killed this franchise years ago, and now they're going for the Rebirth ending, while I got Leave far sooner. No Digging Up the Past achievement for me, thx.

Well as much as people shit on konami for firing kojima the dude was literally like bankupting the company with random pointless stuff I mean he did metal gear V and at the same time did Pt and was hiring these big name giant actors for millions on millions of dollars while they also were investing millions of dollars into making these crazy next gen games. i mean there is a reason mgsv wasnt finished at launch with how many years they were making it for, the dude even made a expensive teaser with ground zeros instead of just making the game. So i mean it makes complete sense why the guy got fired, he is still doing it now they are making death stranding 2 and at the same time this guy is also making another game with big name celebrities like Jordan Peele, i think the dude has always kinda spent money frivolously in his career on stuff that most of the time isnt even in the games.

They just f**ked up the maria in preson scene... In that scene Marry was talking to James in Maria skin then Maria pops up and says im not your Marry... But in this remake all you see is a bad teacher sitting like robot and reading notes on a book

What breaks the narrative of the game is that Maria is covered up, why censor her if the whole point of Maria is that she’s a temptation that James needs to overcome? Hell making her sexy also makes the player want James to be with her but her ending shows that James is gonna repeat the cycle. The game already shames you and James for going after Maria so why the censor shit? I swear to god these crazies are narratively stupid

A redesign is not censorship...it's a redesign. But I also somewhat agree with you. The people complaining about Angela are creepy as fuck considering she's a 19 year old rape victim. At least now she looks like she's 19 and not 30. But Maria is supposed to be what James imagines Mary as in his head. Big tits, skimpy outfit, more sensual etc. but at the end of the day i just don't care. She is still sensual and her tits are bigger. The art designer for the remake is Masahiro Ito, the same man who designed these characters in the past.

dude they just changed the two piece for a once piece and jacket that while yes it covers belly it actually shows more chest xD, i dont think a slight change in design like that is absolutly gonna ruin a plot like this one cause if it did let me tell you that would be a shit story and silent hill 2 story is real good.

@@GunthersLoyalSoldier1307 if you don't like Maria's new design take it up with Masahiro Ito. He's the original Team Silent art director and he's here for the remake. Ask him who he redesigned the character? Also redesigns are not art.
