I've always thought the textures and lighting of this game were phenomenal for it's time. The HD remake really didn't need to happen if I'm being honest, because it looked fairly excellent to start with.

Speedrunning survival horror games is sort of a different beast than a lot of the other stuff being run. It's not really so much about skipping as it is about completely perfecting everything in the actual game. It makes it less interesting in terms of "cool out of bounds/sips/glitches" but more interesting in terms of raw precision.

i'm so happy to see silent hill games being run this year! though i was kind of upset that the planned silent hill 4 run request this year was cancelled, as it's my favorite silent hill game (shattered memories in a close second, would love to see a speedrun of that game too, tho it unfortunately has glitches that can crash the game) but I love these silent hill runs regardless! I just hope my 2 fave silent hills get run eventually.

I was very excited to see this speedrun of one of my fav games but I'm really dissapointed that he just ran through the game without any explanation. I understand he was up for a long time but still the commentary was horrible. If, you want good commentary of a silent hill game watch the agdq silent hill 1 speedrun by tekkie. His commentary is a really good example of how to commentate.
