The fact that seeing this in first person reveals that they're always pointing towards you when they're not aggroed makes it a much creepier sight, you turn around the corner and there's this weird babyfaced ostrich thing just standing there menacingly and pointing at you is the stuff of nightmares, this would be so sick in vr

13:10 i just now realized after seeing it in fpp that thats water and not the clouds lol. I never really thought about it and if those are water waves then that seems to suggest that the water prison is hidden in the middle of toluca lake which is super dark lol

Watching this SH4 gameplay makes me think maybe the game was supposed to be fully in first person. I always thought weird that the game switches to this perspective only inside the apartment, especially if we consider it was not even supposed to be a Silent Hill game during its development. If you think about it, it's like the levels were not designed for third person, maybe that's why the camera struggles so much in this game. It would be a game changer for sure if the original was in full first person mode.

They actually debunked the rumour that it was originally not going to be an sh game, it was not going to be a numbered mainline game but ended up as the 4th installment, and i agree it seems like a much more cohesive game in first person

While reading an old interview for sh4 tsuboyama and Yamaoka stated the entire game wasn’t in first person due to them finding third person more suitable for action. I was wondering if we ever get a remake of the room, what if they fully embraced going first person with it? We’ve gotten games like PT, RE7-8 which are all first person.. I feel like it might work, also in the same interview they state Henrys character is meant to be an avatar of the player which explains his bland personality. I feel like this would go in hand with being in first person with being immersed.

The mod developer is making an 'Over the shoulder' camera mod for Silent Hill 2, so they'll probably make a first person version too. I think they actually tested it in VR even

Yeah. I do. I heard people say a remake would have to be totally different game, but I don't see that. Now imagine they make a remake in first person. I don't know much of the silent hill community, so I only speak for myself. but I bet it would be awesome.
