As a Nurse cosplayer myself, I recommend using a white mask base (the cheap blank face masks from party stores) because it gives your face a barrier between the plaster gauze and it's relatively sturdy. I DO suggest that you use a painted ace bandage (the kind for sprains and sports injuries) to help hold the mask up AND hide your hair though. Caution! Plaster gauze chips away with movement and WILL get in your mouth when you breathe in!

I love watching her turn random materials & paint into costumes. She makes it look easy but every time I've tried it I end up with shredded clothes & a pile of stuff that I thought I would use but ended up saving for later.

I usually make face masks using plaster bandage (even with my children) and a simple shower cap, and spread cream on your face before is enough. I tell you that if you want to avoid the use of a plastic bag in your head. thank you so much for your videos (I love it), and best regards from Spain.

I latexed my nurse dress, I made flesh seams with cotton balls and tissue paper, the dress is AWESOME and the latex turned a bit yellow so it looks like a skin dress.

If you only go for the uniform then I would say yes. If you want to make 3d-maneuver gear and blades too then I would say no.

I think it was one of those nurses in Homecoming that really scarred younger me. Had trouble sleeping for like a week after that. Still have a fear of any face masks, bandaging etc.. Especially the hazmat suits in L4D.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive way to do DIY wigs, as actual wigs are expensive af. I'm trying to get an Astro Boy cosplay together, and I'm stumped, as to how I should do his "hair."
