What's wrong about a man, and especially a father, who fights through a town to save his daughter despite how weak he is in comparison? I feel like that's the kind of positive male representation we need to see more of. We need something between action heroes and dead beat dads. It says a lot about his views on women if he thinks Harry is feminine imo.

In the OG game the daughter’s name was Cheryl and you play as her father, Harry Mason. There’s an Easter egg at the beginning of the movie where “Cheryl” is graffiti’d in the tunnel when they’re running after Sharon sleepwalking.

FUN FACT!: the dude, wrapped in barbe Wire, was the janitor for the school, and he prayed on the little girls in the school. I believe the parents found out and hung him the stalls with the barbe wire and blinded him with it. (Edit) I was mistaken it was dark Sharon

Rose and Sharon/Alessa are alive technically, they’re just on a different plane of existence. Silent Hill works as three different dimensions. There’s the real life Silent Hill, the one that the husband and the detective visit, then there’s the fog world and the otherworld, which was birthed due to Alessa’s latent psychic abilities. This is where she pulled in the cultists and sort of uses it to hunt them down. It isn’t highlighted as much but Alessa does have powers, this is why she was able to split her soul into dark Alessa and Sharon. In the game the town itself has already an existing alternate reality, Alessa just used it to her advantage and as a leverage. In this one she creates it entirely from her powers.

This movie has a special place in my heart because a chunk of it was filmed in my hometown. Unfortunately they didn't have to do a lot to make it look rundown. I think that's why it looks so much better now 😂

In the end they are not dead they are in a different dimension ,in the movie there is 3 worlds the real one with the father ,the fog one and the hell/rust one whem the sirene blasts the fog merge with the hell for a moment but alessa has no strength to keep it merge thats why it never lasts ,in the end all alessas parts merge and she get what she wants a mother who will never leave her

3:07 I always really liked this Alice in wonderland imagery when Rose & Sharon are sitting under the tree. Down to them both falling asleep before the next scene of them on the road. It's a nice little detail that plants the seed of doubt in the following story. Are they really there or is it a nightmare?

A remember the little girl from this movie was in a really weird but interesting film called "Tideland" that also starred a grownup Grady from Goosebumps Werewolf of Fever Swamp. Without spoiling anything it's kinda like Alice in Wonderland meets Psycho with the added weird fever dream vibes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4: The Next Generation. Whether on this channel or in your own time, I highly recommend it! Excited for this one, only saw Silent Hill once years ago, don't remember much and excited to unlock memories from this with y'all.

Watching you guys watch it and make silent and hill jokes was so much fun oh my god ksjdfhs The theory of them being dead is the one I go with as well, because they've crashed the car in the road, and Cybil fell off her bike too, before they ended up in the same dimension as these people who burned in a fire they started like 30 years ago, so like... it makes sense and I love that ending. If you do watch the sequel, Silent Hill Revelations, which I do not recommend, just kinda forget this theory tho ksdjfhkjsdh If you guys wanna play the games, I recommend Silent Hill 2 and 3 !

He did pretty much all of the main games besides downpour (not sure on stuff like the arcade game or mobile phone games) . Honestly, most of the later games that were outsourced to Western dev's main worth is cos they meant new Akria music. They are okay as games but don't match the quality of the original Team Silent ones

I do love the film. It’s very unfaithful to the game changing a lot of characters and backstory but it’s well-made as its own thing (the cult is a demon-worshipping one in the game and you see far fewer characters). It’s kinda infuriating it’s so well made with so much attention to detail as they could have easily done a faithful adaption than the needless changes.
