i love the theory that eric and david were lovers before he left, and that whole rancor and eric telling david to run and hide because he's good at it, like yeah, just confirms for me

Fun Fact: There was a written ending where Mia is walking down a road and a driver stops to pick her up. The driver is revealed to be Ash from the original trilogy. Mia then turns and Ash says "Groovy". But instead, we get this one and Ash appears at the end credits saying his iconic line.

I have yet to be disappointed by any of the Evil Dead movies or the Ash vs Evil Dead show. It's such a great series.

my head cannon is that david and eric are bitter exes and eric is upset that david's new girlfriend is just him as a female (they have the same hair, wear very similar etc.) cause it was easier to date a girl instead of him and that's why david was absent this whole time, SHAME. Seriously they share the most tender moments in the movie and have a lot of chemistry

If we're comparing how prolific in popular culture a series is VS how many duds there are in a horror franchises history I would consider the evil dead to be TRULY underrated. I don't think I've ever had a bad time with any film in this saga and they're all somehow the same yet wildly different and also never fail to entertain. I feel like for a lot of people Evil Dead is like that one section on the menu you always glance at but never order and then you order it once, fall in love, and order every other dish in that section and all of it is the same base yet unique and delicious every time.

I saw this in theaters at the puny age of 12 and the scene in the woods sent me into a full blown, screaming panic attack so I didn’t get to see the rest 🫶🏻 then I watched it at 15 and was fine but as an adult it’s one of my faves!!!😭

On top of everything else this movie does brilliantly, I also really love that the glasses dude who STUPIDLY reads aloud from the book gets properly punished for unleashing the evil when there was EVERY warning not to do it. Like, he spends the rest of the movie just getting absolutely FUCKED in every gruesome way imaginable, paying for his stupidity, and it's perfect:
