I didnt play the games but this film (not the second one) is a masterpiece imo the music always blending perfectly with the colours, i saw it when i was young so it scared the living shit out of me especially the end scene but it really feels like an adventure.

I had no idea about the game when the movie first came out. I thought it was REALLY good for a horror movie. It was very emotional and haunting. I normally don't really like horror movies, and some parts were definitely too gory, but the story, music, and the way it was filmed won me over. Overall, it is a good movie.

I was in elementary school when I wanted to watch this...my family acted like it was a horrible pick of mine when the other movie was "she's the man" Loves this flick then and I love it now

To my understanding, people who favored the games disliked it because it didn't follow the game's lore. In this, you could argue that The Darkness was an anti-hero, whereas in the game...the god that the cult follows is what causes all of the horrific events in Silent Hill, because the god itself is twisted. They tried to rectify this with the sequel, but it was absolute garbage in comparison.

For me this movie get a 10/10 in scary movies, may be it's not the most scary but is the one with the Best context and history, usually scary movies show the demon (or the devil, Satanas, the one with many names or whatever you want to call it) as evil and the church as goodness, this movie show the oposite in a more realistic vision of what witch hunting was, it even reformulate what evil and good means, there is much reality in this fantasy movie

I wish looking at behind the scenes(BTS) was normalized. She did and many stunts were practical. The Sybil actress was actually tied to that ladder and lower down to a real fire. The fear in her eyes was real b/c she was scared of ANYTHING malfunctioning which would lead to her falling into the little fire or injuries

This movie had so much potential. It wasn't a bad film per se, but moments like this just came off as heavy handed and goofy. It remains a solid 6/10 for me, it could have been absolutely amazing instead of just okay.
