Personally I absolutely loved the phone in this game. That you now have the static on the screen like glitches, while you can also use the phone as a flashlight. It was a nice novelty in this series.

Being spammed with “suicide no good” help screen upon launching, before first cutscene, every “chapter”, & ending credits along with the irl txt msg wallpapers def pulled me out of the immersion.

Do what do you think: was anita actually dead or was she in silent hill and had to find a reason to live in order to get out and back to the real world?
@clayton434910 ай бұрын
Honestly, I would say the latter. I believe that her death is what keeping her in Silent Hill. Gotta break the cycle and live.

Absolutely loved this game. It set the perfect tone for the new Silent Hill era and I believe the developers put a lot of thought into this game. So many great ideas, and all of it for free! This is how you do it. I hope the game will get the recognition it deserves. It really captures the feeling of Silent Hill, but with a very modern touch.

I don't think sharing initials with Shattered Memories was a coincidence. Not a bad apology for PT. Especially if you read it as Konami confessing to mismanaging Silent Hill, that they've had multiple failed reboots behind the scenes, that Covid lead to a serious bankruptcy scare, and that they're reaching for outside help because the company has found itself in a Silent Hill of their own.

I didn't even think of that. Interesting.

"Even though you're not using weapons, so it's not really survival..." Actually, I'd argue that not having weapons makes it in a way even more about survival, since you are forced to survive like someone being hunted down by something much more dangerous. And to me, that's part of the fun. I'm glad horror games are, in some cases, moving away from combat and being able to take out lots of enemies, and instead making it about a regular person who is limited to what a regular person can do in that situation - run and maybe hide.

I meant in the true nature of the genre of survival horror. Survival horror also includes item management.

just finished it and i would rate it a solid 7.23 out of 10 😂 got me scared, visuals were beautiful, the only thing really taking me out was the voice acting... it needed confidence!!!

Promo for Silent Hill F (flower) // pretty genius actually // this was one of the better silent hill games 👍
@CHRISCAMPO-wq8bi10 ай бұрын
wait so this game was a promo for F the same way PT was for that cancelled game?
@xKingReyx10 ай бұрын
Not really. From what I've gathered its a tech demo developed in house to show the other developers working on Silent Hill projects how to do it. Im sure the flowers will tie in, but it's meant to be it's own thing.
@_thewickedone10 ай бұрын
@@CHRISCAMPO-wq8bi yes and no… Konami used the same play book as PT as marketing for the “future of silent hill”; if anything this was a Tech Demo to gauge audience reception. Though Silent Hill F is being developed by a different team; they’re all being monitored by Konami. If you go back and look at the Silent Hill F Trailer it’ll sorta fill in some gaps. Even the references to “flowers”and “curses” in the memos you find within the tech game (demo); reek of (Hirugashi when they cry)

@@xKingReyx very possible ! I don’t think Konami is capable of being that calculated but still; super excited for what’s to come! ;)

I love it. I just wish the final maze collecting photos wasn't so damn difficult, repetitive and confusing.

Finished watching the review. Loved it! I see a lot of negativity directed at this game, and as a fan of the series, I get it. But I also believe that series should evolve. Zelda: Breath of the Wild for example is wildly different from, say, Ocarina of Time (but to me, felt like a massive evolution of Zelda 1 for NES, which my older brother agreed with me on). I feel like Silent Hill: The Short Message was an evolution of what SH was, going in a different direction. The old games were basically "walk around and look at stuff, read stuff, and solve some puzzles and encounter some monsters." The Short Message was basically that as well. More linear, but the SH games were always linear in the "you must go here now" sense. To me, it is an evolution of the series. And for the people who say that it's catering to Gen Z and that's a bad thing, well, which makes more money: catering to a dwindling fanbase that consists mostly of the remaining nostalgic people, or catering to a brand new fanbase that's willing to try a new idea? That's why the people complaining about the cartoon Thundercats Roar felt to me like their complaints were going nowhere. I thought Thundercats Roar looked awful, but it felt like 100% of the complaints about it were from nostalgic fans of the 1980s cartoon, and therefore no-one would care. And I was right. It'll be interesting to see what people who are unfamiliar with SH think of this game.

Comparing short message in basically any way to 1-4 is pretty bold, hell even origins - downpour. The gen z part of it didn’t bother me, just that it had no substance. It was super heavy handed and kinda boring.
