I know that Gershon Kingsley also had a minor key version of "Silent Night, Holy Night" that appeared in the OST for "Silent Night, Bloody Night" (1972), an early but relatively little-known slasher film that even preceded "Black Christmas" (1974) by two years, and had most of the elements of the genre plot formula that would become codified by "Halloween" (1978). Likely several others did minor key dark subversions of the song even prior to that.
