This just popped up on my KZbin for no apparent reason. I watched the whole thing, just like the first time I saw these movies. I was setting up and decorating my Christmas tree some years ago, and to keep myself entertained, I randomly picked a channel. They were running a Silent Night, Deadly Night marathon. I watched all of them, back to back, and was greatly amused. I have very low standards for entertainment and I have no shame about that. While most of my favorite holiday memories involve family and friends, this is still one of the ones that make me feel all happy.

If Gene Siskel had had half a brain he wouldn't have spoken about the film on TV at all, act like it doesn't exist if he thinks it's earnings are, "blood money", as if it's being paid for with the lives of children. TriStar is getting tons of publicity and teens will all go to see it because some square on TV talked down to them. Meanwhile the film makes three times it's budget and a ton more on home video, continuing to be re released in this century.
