As a recent fan of this band it's nice to see the attention to detail that they put into the lyrics alone it's refreshing

The song blew me away almost to tears. I love how the lyrics are getting more and more deep and getting more melodic. I can't stop listening to this song. So much is going on to process. Their music is art and poetry.

Damn, Terminal is so amazing… I love it when heavy bands go soft… the melodies are out of the world, that part after 2nd chorus with Garret screaming was just ❤️ awesome reactions 👌

Certainly was an excellent song. That was my favourite of their recent releases. It gave me the same feeling when I first heard "Bleed 4 you" by Alpha Wolf which was my favourite from that album. Just love the direction they took for this!

As an unashamed Silent Planet knock-off band, I’ve been thrilled with this new direction for Silent Planet. The heart-felt screams in this song were why I fell in love with them all the way back in 2013.

I've been a consumed fan of Silent Planet over the last few years and the emotional transfusion in the writing has had me fully captivated by this band, instrumentality they translate the message in the lyrics so seamlessly and it's just a very overwhelming experience going through some of these emotions and not being able to express them yourself, I will be a life long fan ❤

Fantastic song and review. I just recently joined and also started getting into Japanese metalcore. If you haven’t checked it out, maybe take a listen to Black Ice by Paledusk

Love the song just because of how different it is. That stripped back chorus gives it such a unique atmosphere. This band keeps evolving and I'm all for it. If the entirety of the album is going to be as diverse as these singles are, I may end up liking it even more than WTEB, which is my favorite by them.

My song of the year until further notice. Incredible song/video. I’ve had my eye on these guys for a while, liking a song here and there. These newer ones being released since Trilogy have peaked my interest big time. Yes, I’ve been sleeping 😂.

First off, I love seeing how emotional you got about this song. It's been a while since a song has resonated with you like this on first listen. Like you said, I think your personal experience will affect how emotional of a connection you'll feel with the song. I'm absolutely NOT a music video or lyric buff, but I know people respect this band enough to the degree that I've read the lyrics and tried to follow the connection to Trilogy. You kind of hinted at it a bit, but to me this release is less about releasing a good single with mandatory accompanying visuals. It seems like they had a story to tell, and this entire production (two tracks with a long-form video) was the best realisation of that vision. I think the length of the video says a lot. You don't get a 7.5 minute long music video for no reason. They're expensive, hard to keep engaging, and just not very common. You only seem to get them when when the artist is trying to tell a story and convey parts of the narrative beyond the audio. I wonder if they released the video ahead of streaming services because they wanted people to experience this presentation of the song, and not audio-only. I'm very glad I heard this the first time while watching the music video. It wouldn't have been the same experience without the visuals elevating the music. The video really drives home the Trilogy link. From music alone, Terminal doesn't strike me as the type of track to be released as a big single. It's slower, more experimental, less "hooky", and seems to have been written to play a key part in the overarching narrative they're going for with this release. Something you'd expect as an album closer or the like. Obviously (liminal); being an interlude implies that this will be somewhere before the end of the album. Saying that, I really like it. I've never heard a song quite like this from Silent Planet. You get some very familiar elements (Garrett's screams, the chord progression in the chorus, the heavy buildup), but a lot of new things I haven't heard from this band. Lots of diversity from the members; from the vocals, to instrumentation (Garrett on guitar???). The more electronic production on the vocals makes them hit different. I'm really looking forward to see if they push the boundary even more on the rest of the album. Also, more long form discussion please. I love to hear you go off when you have lots of things to say! If people don't want to stay for it they can click off, but there are plenty of us that want to hear you just ramble about things you love.

It really has been a minute since a song hit me the way that this did. You're so right about the length of the music video and there being a story to tell. There was such a powerful message here and they delivered it. A fantastic use of an interlude track as well, now associated with the video which is just 10/10 video imo. I think it makes sense as a single for this album announcement given the music video and all but you're right about musically it being a bit different for a big single. I love that they were able to still make it feel like a huge single though!
@ciaran13443 жыл бұрын
@@RachelleReacts 100% agree. I never really thought about this adding weight to the interlude! I always see them in more of a functional role, giving the listener a break between tracks in the album, or smoothing out transitions between contrasting sounds. But you're right, this association adds a lot of meaning to it!

Man I've heard about 6 or 7 songs from this new album! Last month I havent heard nothing then all of a sudden. Leaks started dropping right before they released their 1st single. Now out of no where ivenheard more then half the album. The first single, terminal, invisible empire, the system and couple others forgetting names

This has to be about Schizophrenia…IMO…such an emotional song and video. Like he thought he was with his nurse but it wasn’t real … and in the liminal section she gives him the cup of pills and she disappears and he has a light and is alone to find his way in nothingness…and also ties in with trilogy as he was living in a made up world (virtual reality) I’ve watch Schizophrenia videos on KZbin and they are literally heartbreaking.
