My brother introduced me to Tool many years ago. He died last October, and every time I hear anything from Tool it brings back good memories of my little brother Rick. Good times were had.

they try hard, they make it looks so easy when all they are doing is their best to be completely enveloped by the topic and design the sound in which it lives. no one even tries anymore, they defy being cool. they are fully sick by todays standards, and thats maybe why the "sick" are here to listen and resonate.

Austin Brown indeed. Experts on the study of lacrymology they intended to be a way to deal with such things... you know laughter is the best medicine and all that... it the name took in respect to this band was indeed intentionally able to mean a tool to get through life, a tool...like an idiot, fool, OGT in92 etc etc, a tool is also a another word for someone’s penis. It’s a punny triple entendre all three of which are equally true.

Maynard's singing in this is spine-chilling. I've been listening to TOOL for about 4 years now and i never get tired of them, but Salival is totally new to me and hearing this for the first time is nostalgic. It's like listening to Rosetta Stoned, Disposition-Reflection-Triad, Wings pt. 1 & 2 and Intension for the first time for me. I wish i could go back and feel the chills all over again when listening to TOOL. Many songs can make you feel nice, make you groove, make you feel epic or sad. But only TOOL has managed to make me get chills from their music.

My uncle introduced me to Tool when I was a kid and it truly changed my life in every way for the better. He died last year, but luckily he came back to life and we're listening to this song together. Best nephew uncle homies forever!

That ending sounds very doom/stoner metally. Very nice. Wish Tool tried experimenting in this direction, it's a great sound for them.

A long time after I listened to the ‘No Quarter’ version of Tool I still tried to fool myself by saying the Zeppelin Version is better. My logical mind didn’t want to accept that they made the song flawless , it felt like blasphemy. But after about 10 years I started liking the Tool version more.

This band perfectly evolved with my life, from angry, to acknkoledgable, to refinement, tool has been my church scince i was 16, & i never looked back! Thank you Danny, Maynard,Adam,& Justin. You get me, & you dont even know who I am. Caduseus cellars, jerome, the tears of pain and joy, its been a perfect cirle!

I hope their new album moves me as much as their previous ones did. In reality I always associated each Tool song to a specific event or feeling in my life which made each song more meaningful. I guess I'm hoping to find more of that this year!
