I appreciate how in the manga, Yuyuko heads over to the Lunar Capital, chills about for a while, steals a really old bottle of sake and leaves. Hell, even in the scene where Youmu and Yuyuko are sneaking about, Youmu is the only one that looks nervous when near Yorihime. Yuyuko just looks chill. When Yuyuko walks up to the moon rabbits in the peach forest, she just says "That's right, don't be afraid. I'm just a little lost child. As long as your master's out, why don't we take a break and eat some peaches?" I have no clue how she managed to get away with it all without being found - the moon rabbits did seem to like her. Maybe Yuyuko is just really charismatic, or maybe it's something else - who knows.

ZUN's mangas are pretty good even subtracting obvious Touhou fan biases lol. I like how they decided to use the power of the God of voyages to power their space ship interesting shit lol Also the mangas are about the only place where you can get a very clear picture of what the cannon personalities of each of the characters are. Making guesses about their personality from the games alone I feel like can easily lead to mischarachterization

Pretty sure some characters have variatinf and conflicting personalities and characterization across different media on purpose. Like how reimu is portrayed as lazy and greedy in WaHH but diligent and serious in FS

@@akiradkcn Yep, it was outright stated by Reimu's section of Who's Who of Human's and Youkai. "[..] This heroic "Guardian of Paradise" side of Reimu basically only shows up in the games. In the original comics and novels written by Mr. ZUN, she may show up as an important character, but rarely as the protagonist. She gets yanked around by human villagers and youkai alike, her plans to attract more visitors to the shrine inevitably end in failure, and generally shows a side of herself apart from the Hakurei Shrine Maiden. Her very human laziness and greed are emphasized, and she's often put in the role of a fool. These are detailed in the ongoing comic series "Forbidden Scrollery" and "Wild and Horned Hermit", so if you read them alongside the games, your perception of Reimu is sure to change." - part of the main section "I've never made anything from Reimu's point of view. The games are written in third person omniscient, so only she knows what she's really like. I don't know very well either. We have no idea what's going on in Reimu's head, so she changes depending on whose perspective we see her from. The Reimu that humans see, the Reimu that fairies see, and the Reimu that youkai see are all different. That's probably why she's in a bit of a different position from the protagonists of other works. Also, no matter what work she's in she never grows up at all. I've just re-read SSiB and now... I find it really interesting how Yukari said that because Yuyuko and Youmu were "Denizens of the Pure Lands" that they were able to sneak in undetected and blend in easily with much suspicions... Still find it really funny how Yuyuko just kind of had fun playing around with the Lunar Rabbits And judging by the panel at the end, the Lunar Rabbits really liked her too More importantly though, when Yukari and Ran talked about those ropes that seals Gods... And mentions how thick Kanako's shrine's rope are... How powerful are the Moriyas then...

I imagine youkai space travel would be kinda boring. They would probably just put on a space suit and then fly off to the final frontier. Meanwhile, human space travel includes really big giant aerodynamic cylinder throwing really dangerous flame stuff getting exploded out from the nozzle. And going faster than sound fast in the atmosphere with all sorts of aerodynamic stress and acoustic and temperature problems. And all that orbital mechanics stuff and the signal delays and keeping the systems running. And also if you wanted to land on a planet with atmosphere you have to put on some stuff on the hot side to protect your stuff and also face 3000°C heat, high aerodynamic forces, and high g-load when undergoing atmospheric entry. And landing you have to bring a parachute and airbags and possibly another rocket if the atmosphere is thin. Longest comment I've made so far.

I've read SSiB, and Remilia's crew is unable to just fly into space, so they have to build a rocketship to make it to the moon. For their reference, they end up using human rockets to fly into space, with 3 stages and all. The main caveats are that it is fueled via magic, and it looks more like a shrine aesthetically. also you think that's rambly i've seen much longer
