It's actually really funny! This stuff happens I guess. But crumbs! That was a darn lucky direct hit by that aircraft and probably better to correct it for the reasons you mention :) Next game? Best is probably By Stealth & Sea simply because I know it well and it'll be epic! However, don't know Raiders so would love to see it. That doesn't help you one bit :)

I'm very curious about Stealth and Sea and think it could be really fun. So far Raiders is leading, but still a ways to go before the voting ends! :)

My choice is Raiders of the Deep. It's a personal favorite so I'm a bit biased. A different playing experience than the other submarine games in this series.

My vote is on another Silent Victory campaign - we barely paid homage to the game getting sunk on our 2nd patrol. That said I am very interested in both of the two other games that I have on my wishlist and haven't played or watched being played. :D

I thought Silent Victory would win the votes in a walk, but so far that's not the case. No matter what happens, I definitely want to return to this game relatively soon. I feel the need to extract vengeance. Two patrols is way too short. :)

Yeah, normally I'd just say "Drive on" but that was about as big of an error as one can make in one of these games. :)

I made a similare mistake in The Hunter and in the end I regret that I "drive on". Something was odd about it, you made the right call :)

Zee, my initial reaction is to start a new campaign with a new sub and crew at the current date and out of Pearl Harbor. Treat it like a new sub coming on line. No muss no fuss. The other game you mentioned, Stealth by Sea I think, sounds interesting. Italian frogmen basically riding on an electric torpedo with a detachable warhead. The Torpedoes were called "Miaile" or "Pig" because they were so hard to steer. Don't trust my spelling on this. There's a good book out there called "Twelve Who Dared" and on of the chapters is about these guys. Very interesting! A question off topic. What corner punch did you use for trimming the chits? Started looking for one and getting contradictory reviews for the same product. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the info on the Italian frogmen, it sounds like such a crazy and fascinating thing. I know there is a complementary book/PDF that comes with the game as well. I might have to check out Twelve Who Dared as well. ~ I'm using this the Oregon Deluxe 2mm clipper. I've heard they break somewhat easily but so far mine is going strong (probably a dozen games?). The heavy duty version apparently is more durable, but is more fiddly to use. I really like how easy it is to clip counters with the Deluxe version. I saw stay with same game as you really have only recently started it and have not fully fleshed it out yet, but start a new commander with new sub from Pearl at date the 1st sub was lost. I think jumping to another new sub game is too early.

Ha! Yes, thanks! My goal is to keep mistakes low, but perfection will most likely never be the result. But since this was a life or death mistake, it seemed to make sense to adjust course. :)

To be totally honest, I has crossed my mind that perhaps these dice are unbalanced. I've heard that it's actually not that uncommon and you can float them to test them, or something like that? Or is that just an Internet myth? :)

@@ZillaBlitz I guess it could be possible. For dice heavy games like 'The Hunters', I usually grab a bunch of aftermarket six-sided ones and grab a selection for mission rolls. That maybe evens out any balance issues. Or your sub could have just had incredibly bad luck :)

Interesting, maybe I'll invest in a really nice dice set. I did swap out one of the white dice for the black one right before I rolled the second snake eyes. I tend to think that we just had a spot of bad luck there. 8 in 10k isn't that incredibly unlikely, given how many times we rolled dice consecutively. Just a very unfortunate time for that to come up. Although to be fair, it was really the 11 that killed us.
