Silentaire Compressor Setup for Hand Engraving

Is it common for newer version to not have a fan? Cause mine does not have a fan and gets noticeably hot. I also noticed this video didn't talk about the release valve to release moisture build up in the compressor tank. I attached mine to a old bottle to collect the yucky oilish fluid that comes out.

Hi . I have gravermax G8. can I connect a Silver-Line compressor to it or do I need to buy a compressor from GRS ? Is there a difference in it? Do they have the same connection?

You absolutely can use a compressor that we don't offer, but please keep in mind the following requirements: GraverMax® G8 requires an oil-free compressed air supply with minimum pressure 45 psi (3 bar) and maximum pressure 120 psi (8 bar). The compressed air supply must have a minimum flow capacity of 1.4 CFM [ft³/min] or 40 LPM [L/min]. If the compressor you want to use is not oil-free, you will need to purchase and install an oil-removal filter (coalescing type - GRS® #004-579 or equivalent) in the air supply line to this engraving system. As far as the connection, I am unfamiliar with the Silver-Line compressor, but if air supply hose from the compressor to the G8 is larger than 1/4" (6.35 mm) OD, you will have to either replace the push‑to‑connect fitting on the supplied air filter that attaches to the G8, or you will have to purchase a reducer to decrease the OD to 1/4" (6.35 mm).

@@Grstools I bought a planet air model L-S5025 compressor by mistake. can you somehow help me set it up for use, if you need to buy the necessary spare parts from you. I did not find the GRS filter --#004-579 in your catalog. Air supply hose connection to G8 is greater than 1/4 in. I don't want to hurt myself by using the wrong compressor. thank you in advance . help

My apologies. The correct item number for the Coalescing Air Filter / Oil-Removal Kit is #004-730. As for the fitting, your best bet would be to get a reducer or push-to-connect fitting from your local hardware store.

@@Grstools Hi . I have another question. where to connect the Air Filter / Oil-Removal Kit is #004-730 ? directly to the compressor before connecting the air hose or to the Graver G8 ? I need to figure it out, buy and connect. thank you in advance
