Can I ask you what setting on your camero you use

I have been looking EVERYWHERE for answers as if this tool will work for my cameo 3. I don’t want to buy a whole new machine if I didn’t have to!! I have written down the setting u use and I cannot wait to try! Have u made a tutorial of u actually cutting onto a bracelet? If so. Can u post the link for me :)?

Also, if you will buy the Silhouette Stippling tool, which is much, much cheaper, you will have to do NO adjustments & does a beautiful job engraving!! =) Just thought I would throw that in there as well! I do own 2 different Chomas Creations engraving tools, the blunt end & the precision tip, they both work in the cameo 3 with these adjustments & without the adjustments depending on what thickness of the metal you are engraving on, so its a pretty much a hit or miss thing. The issue is, you end wasting metal blanks figuring it out. With the stippling tool, you don't have those issues. I do love all of the engraving tools whether it be Chomas or the stippling tool, so its basically a choice for you to make. Chomas is more expensive than the stippling tool. Neither one last longer than the other. I've had them all for years & have engraved thousands upon thousands of metal pieces from ring blanks, necklaces pieces, bracelets blanks, etc. & they are all still going strong. The decision is yours! Never, ever hesitate to contact me anytime you need advice or help with your engraving or your engraving tools, I never mind to help you. You can reach me easiest on my Facebook group or my Facebook page, Our Crafty Chaotic Life is the name on both. XOXOXOXO ~Crystal

@@CrystalGrayArt what r the setting u use for the etching and stippling tool from silhouette for metal??
@CrystalGrayArt5 жыл бұрын
The settings I use for all of my metal engraving no matter what engraving tool I use are the following:: Material: Chipboard, Action: Sketch, Tool: Sketch Pen, Speed: 1-2 (Do NOT go more than 2), Force: 33, Pass: 2-3

What are the silhouette setting for this? Also do you know the settings for acrylic?
@CrystalGrayArt6 жыл бұрын
The settings I use are Speed 2-3, force 33, you will use sketch pen option, sketch. For acrylic, I use the same exact settings. =) I hope this helps ! =)

Our Crafty Chaotic Life Do you use double cut (or now passes - more than 1) to make sure the engraving is more even?

Is this adjustment only for bracelet blanks? with the precision tip
@CrystalGrayArt6 жыл бұрын
Yes, this adjustment is primarily for the bracelet blanks only. Thanks for asking!

This must be a thickness thing as I have used this engraver (as well as one I made on my 3D printer) and engraved a bunch of test pieces 1mm thick and it never dragged across the surface like that. You did give me an idea though, I could print a set of spacers to go on the engraving tip (like washers but plastic) that would allow different thicknesses of material without scratching.
@CrystalGrayArt6 жыл бұрын
Perhaps, I have only had a couple of blanks that I literally had to go ahead and allow the engraver to fall all the way down into the slot but for me, 99.9% of the time, I have to adjust the engraver when I use the chomas creations engraving tool. I don't use the chomas creations engraving tool as much as I did before I found out I could use the Silhouette Stippling Tool for the Curio in the Cameo for the same exact thing & I don't have to adjust it all the time. I do love your idea of the spacers. That would be a brilliant idea !! =)

Our Crafty Chaotic Life what settings do you use when engraving with the Curio stippling tool in the Cameo 3?

@@CrystalGrayArt I successfully(mostly) monogrammed Blank Slate earrings with the Silhouette Stippling Tool until it wouldn't engrave any longer. I can only assume it got dull. Is there anything else it could be? I didn't try a different blank. I have ordered the Chomas Precision tip....but now I'm concerned about what you said about it leaving the piece rough. Maybe I should return it and get the original instead...?? The Silhouette Stippling tool is cheaper. But I remember in one of your videos you saying the Chomas would never have to be replaced. Thx for your advice.

I have some blanks that are about 1.5mm thick. Will my silhouette be able to handle that? I'm worried it won't because it's so thick even though I'm just engraving the surface.
@CrystalGrayArt7 жыл бұрын
The Silhouette Cameo is able to handle thicknesses up to 2mm 's in thickness. I, personally, haven't engraved anything with this thickness but I do not see any reason why it would be a problem.

I am struggling so hard! Has anyone used the cameo 1? And filled their design with the sketch (hashmarks)? My hashmarks go outside my outline. I have selected the solid line for outline. I see all these videos and they have no problems! Help! Anyone with a fix? Do I have to buy the cameo 4? I don't want to mine works fine other than this.
