Tip: mark each fabric piece (Fashion fabric Front #1-10, Back & sleeve #11-21, and Lining fabric #22-31) with its corresponding number using the tailor's chalk Separate into different piles to avoid confusion when sewing pieces together. The instructions did not include pictures of the Fashion Fabric outer shell front and back pictures but I found it on the pattern envelope if you need a reference guide. I like all the Silhouette Patterns I have purchased and can't wait to make another jacket!

Thanks for that tip! It's easy, esp. for a newer seamstress, to get confused when using a pattern with many pcs.

I love the jacket and as usual, you have made some wonderful changes. When I was working I would have made the black and white and got lots of wear out of it. The little floral with knit sleeves would be considered dressy for where and how I live in retirement. Now to find the woven I want to make it out of.

Great make ups and ideas. Thank you! Just an FYI, I think when you mentioned the mask fabrics you might have confused some people who might also be quilters, as I am. a quarter fabric to a quilter sewer's mind translates to a Fat Quarter, which is 18x22". Your mask fabric is smaller for sure. Ia it just me or is your room a lighter color now? I could see the black garments so much better!

Re: the question about how to change the pattern if you are short waisted, I understand your answer about why draw attention to your short waist, but that is not the issue for us short-waisted people. The problem is that if you don’t accommodate for the short waist by shortening the pattern, the garment won’t close because where the pattern thinks your waist is, that is where a short-waisted person’s abdomen is which is larger than a waist, and, subsequently, the jacket won’t close.
