This is the first tutorial I've ever watched that makes any sense to me. You even showed how everyone else's so-called 'default' view is different to mine (opacity of the grid!) You better have one on how to do stickers. I've had this damn thing 4 years and never got it to do anything.

Like Cindy, I just bought my Silhouette Cameo as well and I've cut a couple of pieces at my friends house but it was stumble and bumble all the way through (but I got some fairies cut out!) So, I wanted my own so I can work on my own time and I'm like duh, so lost. I'm going to watch your videos over and over until I can figure it out. I wish it was less difficult for us newbies but I'm sure we'll get the swing of things and just be cutting away. I want to be a cutting vinyl junkie! I know this is out dated but I just bought a Cameo one from a friend and I am trying to learn how to get started. I finally figured out how to download the software since I didn't get any of the stuff that came with it if it were fresh out of the box. I am soooo lost. This seems so difficult and confusing. I am going to watch all of your videos and hopefully that will help me . This one was a great help, I just need to learn to actually load the machine now. lol

Laura, I enjoyed your video. Learned a lot. I'm still unsure about a few things. I need to made a vinyl sign that is 8" high and 30" long. I'm assuming when I load the vinyl into the machine that it will cut it for me. I won't be using a mat with the vinyl. I just don't want to make a mistake. Please let me know if my thinking is right.

Did you say you already had a video on "subtracting" and "subtract all"? (I couldn't find?) I'm stalled on that in that when I select all my stuff and then click to "subtract all" - it really does indeed subtract ALL. The whole selected section goes invisible. Bah! Hi Laura, I would like to know if it's possible to get the cheat sheet associated with each icon that is now eliminated from the manual. I believe it use to be page 45. It's one thing to have each icon explained, but it would be most helpful to have the actual sheet, print it and I would actually have my sheet laminated for quick reference. Trying to remember what each icon represents and it's definition can become frustrating and very time consuming for a newbie. I find myself clicking over and over on each icon to see exactly what it does, which again, can become very time consuming. The ability to see the icon and it's definition "at a glance" would be so very helpful. I can't imagine why that page is no longer in the manual! When do you Release a Compound Path? And why? When do you Make a Compound Path, and why? If I am using 12X12 Card Stock paper on my Cutting Mat do I need to do something with the "Register"? Do I always "Weld" in order to cut a stencil?

What's the difference between welding and grouping? I hot confused when you did the example of the thin writing

Elizabeth welding brings the letters together if they go over each other. Grouping keeps things together.
