SILICA GEL IN WATER EXPERIMENT

What happens when you put silica gel in water? In this small experiment, we cut open a small bag of silica gel (found in a shoe box) and put it in a glass of hot water to see how it reacts to it.
Silica gel bags can be found in a shoe box or when unboxing electronics, for example, because it absorbs the moist from its surroundings.

No, it doesn't. It only adsorbs. The Celica gel sticks water molecules to its surface. That's why the packets are included in things like shoeboxes. the water molecules may affect the leather.
