Great show today to the both of you guys. The salient point ,I thought was that as soon as France and Britain allowed the Storm Shadow usage, beyond the pre 2014 Russian borders involved in the bombing of Ukraine. They clearly demonstrated the NATO alliance working together. The movement of supplies, Russians to the rear by 200 miles will be a new phase in the war and borders.

I’m normally very positive about Ukraine receiving an upgrade in weaponry, but the last few days have been a side-show. We have seen the US military test an ATACMS at a high value target within full Russian air defence and Russia live fire a multiple re-entry vehicle ICBM system at a city they are pretty sure doesn’t have a US THAAD system in place (a disaster for Dnipro). I’d be happier if Ukraine was supplied effective battlefield weapons and allowed to target them (within a simpler, flexible ROE) as they need to. But it’s been this way since the second-half of 2022, where the US & Germany (who can potentially do most) dragging their feet or piling up the conditions & waiting for a unicorn to stab Putin in the heart.

This is going to be fun seeing this bridge become structurally unstable. As an engineer there's needs to be very careful consideration on EXACTLY where to land the charges..if not it will be complete waste of time.. The best solution is if Ukraine has a couple of old ICBM that would be impossible to intercept and send a similar message to Putin not to send such missiles into Ukrainian territory again..but he will cos he has no alternative..

It took a truck bomb to take out part of the Kerch bridge. Ukraine has the skill to devise a set of special weapons and tactics to take it out of service, but it is a big project. Trump's plan to increase US oil production would put pressure on Russian oil revenue without creating inflation due to lack of supply. People might also work on consuming less oil products. If Trump does not do that and then cuts off arms to Ukraine, then Ukraine might as well reduce Russian oil exports.
@timtrewyn45310 сағат бұрын
If Putin plays psycho, letting him think he is winning keeps him on a course of being weakened. Lloyd Austin said very early on the US strategy was to avoid any risk of nuclear war and to weaken Russia. The dark side of the strategy has been the cost in Ukrainian lives. Providing weapons and financial aid has been the rather limp atonement. The culmination of the war was thought to be the exhaustion of the Russian Army in Ukraine enabling a lower-cost recovery of territory compared to a high-cost counter-offensive against a stronger Russian Army in Ukraine. The depletion of Ukrainian forces is such that allied forces would need to intervene to force a weakened Russian Army into withdrawal. That intervention would probably settle for a partial recovery of Ukrainian territory along a shorter and more defendable eastern border cutting to the Sea of Azov and recovering Zaporizhya and Kherson oblasts. That is a stopping point Russia might accept, and if they don't, Western forces might as well recover Crimea with their amphibious, airpower, and airlift capabilities. For the lifting of sanctions, Russia should have to accept a Western air and naval presence in and near Ukraine. It doesn't have to be NATO, it just needs to deter Russia and satisfy investors.
