After thirty years have passed since the filming of this delightful Camel Caravan, I wonder how many times that 10 year old Syrian boy "Monage" as watched this and thanked his father for allowing the Japanese/Chinese "Silk Road Team" to use his camels and man-power for this film. Tragically Syria and several archeological sites like Palmrya have been affected now by indiscriminant shelling and deliberate destruction of priceless historical monuments, not to mention thousands killed.

These episodes really do make me sad, especially the one with Baghdad....such destruction in the world...But that is a theme in the silk road unfortunatly, hopefully soon we will forget about waging wars amongst ourselves

Alas, no! How many wars have we seen in the past 100 years? Each one so devastating that it was thought to be the last one. And yet, we never learn.

The movie narrates a magnificent story but there is one mistake in 32:55. The narrator says Arabian Gulf whereas it is Persian Gulf.
