Beautiful Sabre. Nice flower on the handle. That flower is on a lot of different swords. I have one on my Wo-Dao too. I wonder what it signifies? Flower of life? Flower of death? I love how light it is too. Have a great day. Cheers from Canada.

I know the plum flower is used a lot in Chinese martial arts, both as decoration aswell as a name for various sets and techniques. A Chinese instructor once explained that with regards to empty hand techniques, plum flower refers to multiple directions coming from the centre like petals on the flower, either in stepping patterns or angles of attack.

Could that instructor be grm. Doc Fai Wong from the choy li fut kung fu school because plum blossom it's the name of the school and website.✌️🙏

I always picture these and Kriegs Messers being the swords in the wheel of Time series.

@@jiskodadski3208 they are pretty good. Better than the Game of Thrones books.

That’s an interesting interpretation. I imagined them as katana blades with heron cross hilts or straight sabers similar to back swords with the heron cross hilts. I remember in the second book Egwene sees a Seanchan soldier with a large two handed curved sword carried on his back. That imagery made me think of a two handed Chinese broadsword, a Miaodao, or a Japanese Nodachi. Both the Seanchan and Westlanders had heron marked blades left over from the Age of Legends, but they were very rare as most did not survive The Breaking. My assumption is the elites had heron blades and hilts in the style of Callandor as they were rich enough to travel to the Stone of Tear and see it. The commoners probably carried messers and backsword type weapons. The people of Altara and Murandy carried curved daggers while the people of Andor and further north carried straight daggers. I imagine the daggers of Altara to be similar to the Arabian jambiya. I imagined the horsemen of Saldaea using Hungarian-Polish type sabers wearing their large fur hats similar to the Cossacks and of the course Kandari and Arafeli with their lances that had a foot of steel.

This is a beautiful sword, but compared to our swords in my country, pompel is smaller, the handle grip is shorter, and the cutting angle is less, it can tire the arm when swinging.

Absolutely lovely saber 🤩👍 and the weight is spot on, not like these modern ones that are 1 kg plus. The tatami cuts where okey, i think you could have done it better with a more open straight grip instead of the closed fist grip..because I feel that with the closed fist grip you hit more that cut... But correct me if I am wrong 🙂 Anyway good video brother

Thank you brother. I thought my cutting was not great that day too. You're right that I was too tight and stiff with the grip and trying hit powerfully more than slice accurately. Had been using the heavy nailgun at work all week and it definitely left the right hand feeling stiff and worn out. My daughter loves this szabla the most as it is light enough for her to actually cut with. She mostly uses her katana for cutting because she can use both hands.
