Silkies can fight with bantams like mine do Haha. Sadly my rooster likes them the most and doesn't tell her off so it carries on but they are so amazing and friendly to humans. My dead chicken cloud used to run to the gate to see me and now Henrietta does it!

Let? Do what you want. You have the right to own a food source. You also have the right to tell ordinances to F OFF. I have roosters in the middle of my city and have since the 90's. It's called live and let live. I tell everyone to get them, treat them right, and forget the battery cage kept egg sources at the store. Those eggs are old, full of bacteria and who knows what kind of gmo feed

They don't! They get colder than regular feathered chickens and overheat easier as well. They need heat, shade, and dry areas. These birds are pets. If you want poultry get a different type.

Just spend time with them and let them come to you!

Get meat or baked larve as treats, and make them come to you. Not every chicken is cuddly. I have hatchery silkies that are not friendly like the ones I got from farms. The temperament of the parent birds makes a difference.

Silkie hens are not particularly loud. Sometimes they do like to announce when they lay an egg singing for a minute or two to let everyone know about it.

I have 7 of them! They are 3mths now and showing who is male and female. I believe I have 3 Roos. Was hoping only 2 were Roos but in the last 2 wks it’s now growing the wisps. I also see the bridge of the beak getting wider too. Would hate to have to take one out. Was hoping to keep all 3, but we will see! Is it possible to keep 3 Roos with 4 hens? Thanks!

Silkies are super hard to tell male and female. They are a docile breed. They will likely all get along, especially since you raised them as a family.
