I’m talking about this being not an NDA, not if it was deliberate or not. I literally say that in the video. Riddle me this Copers, Silksong is not an Unrevealed IP. Neither is it a Nintendo IP. So Why on gods green earth would Nintendo want team cherry to sign an NDA that says they can’t tell anyone thier game will be on the direct. Just give me one good reason. Disregarding everything else for a second, no matter what happens, all the things pointing to April 2nd are completely intentional and nigh undeniable. 1. About the napoleon thing, he was buried on April 2nd, I thought it was about that, not him getting married. Next, Is changing one letter (M to an N) really that big of a deal? I don’t think so. It’s so close and with such similar letters that you can’t just disregard the whole thing, especially considering the other two things that absolutely point to April 2nd, it makes it much easier to think this is another clue. 2. Reverse image searching the cake profile picture leads to a recipe that was published on April 2nd. 3. In his tweet William said “Keep your eyes closed tomorrow.” Imagine dragons tweeted that exact same thing, on April 2nd. Knowing clue 2 and 3 makes it much easier to believe that changing one letter to solve the napoleon clue is intended, and not a weird coincidence, 4. Team cherry have already done riddles/ARGs relating to silksong before, so it’s not completely random or out of character for them. I’m not trying to argue anything else about if there’s an NDA or not, just that all the April 2nd clues are clearly intentional.

Um I'm sorry but it is very much standard practice to sign an NDA with Nintendo if your game will be featured on the Direct. Is it ever revealed beforehand what games will be on the Direct? Whether or not the game was already revealed or unrevealed it doesn't matter. Nintendo is very secretive about THEIR Nintendo Directs and they don't want to spoil anything beforehand, especially not a game of the mythical status like Silksong might be featured. I really don't get why you have to mock the people pointing this out. Sure it could be nothing in the end, but the NDA argument is not a moot point at all.

Leth saying that team cherry are completely unaware of directs makes no sense if you think about it. They're a game publisher. Knowing about a new console is kinda relevant to them because you know the game has to be playable on the system. Basic info like specs and release date is kinda necessary for developers to develop games for a new system. And Nintendo has made videos with Hollow Knight and Silksong which kinda requires Team Cherry to give them a demo/footage. I think there are some misunderstandings here: Nintendo, as we all know, is a very litigious company that even hands KZbinrs severe musical copyright strikes; a partner company intending to release a new game on its platform would be especially concerned about the appearance of having improperly leaked information about a big reveal event for their newest console. And we know from recent press that Nintendo has been highly sensitive to Switch 2 leaks. This is exacerbated by the fact that the tweets/profile changes in question were widely reported in the gaming press, KZbin and elsewhere. Plus, regardless of the actual intentions behind them (ARG or no), real people got credible information about the *Switch 2 reveal* from them; possible Silksong news is totally irrelevant. And by the way, this could very well be why Leth has said it wasn't about Silksong, etc. It may very well have just been about the Switch 2, which would have been just as bad if not worse from Nintendo's perspective. I'm not sure what Australia's laws are like, but at least from a U.S. perspective there are lots of reasons why people might improperly disclose coded messages about a major corporate development (e.g., insider trading among knowledgeable associates). No fandom-targeted ARG required. But the simplest explanation is that there could have been concerns about the appearance of improper dissemination of non-public information, whether or not there was actual breach of contract.

You have to account for all the factors. Anything with a date has a 1 in 365 chance of being April 2. Every tweet has a date. Every KZbin video has a date. So it is really easy to find things that sound similar that have that date. But if you are looking 2 google searches deep at the second video, then there are many other videos and websites you could have used as evidence. And how many famous things has Napolean done whose dates could have been used as evidence? Furthermore, coincidences do happen. You just don't notice all the times they don't. All of these drastically reduce the probability of intentionality.

This isnt confirmation bias though. When separate information continues to point to the same fact, it simply becomes evidence. I will concede that Little Bomey is in fact one letter off of both of the going theories but even if we throw that out (and i dont think we should), everything else still points the same direction without stretching at all. The cake VERY easily points to Apr 2. The Imagine Dragons reference is a direct reference to Apr 2. "Big news tomorrow", the next day Switch 2 is revealed which cannot be understated how big of news that is then proceeds to end with the announcement that there will be a nintendo direct on Apr 2. "Every day we're changin" is on a 2 layered google search to get to Apr 2, not a huge jump there. Calling these coincidences is more of a stretch than them being one. This is exactly the kind of thing they have done in the past with the 2020 riddles. My biggest question come with the FireB0rn tweet. Why go through him? Why not Mossbag? Why not Daily Silksong News? At this point, if I were a dev team, and I saw my game’s community going up in flames in madness and insanity, I would just give them a heads up and update to comfort them. They don’t owe us anything, but it would just be a nice thing to do from a nice developer. Whether or not the ARG is intentionally made or pure coincidence, I think it would benefit the community to have some news and not harm (maybe even benefit) TC to release some sort of update. I just don’t see a positive out of keeping silent, as they aren’t sooo busy that they can’t been post a one sentence update on social media. I don’t expect them to release daily or monthly updates like maybe the dev of “chef rpg” did (props to him for being so communicative), but at least give something once a year! Anyways hope everyone stays well and sane since this is still just one out of the many games we will play in our lives.

Honestly I am starting to worry that while they would want to follow with your idea, the reason they are so silent is because they genuinely don't have anything (or at least not something they feel proud of) to show, I mean for a long time we were optimistic that the longer it takes, the better and better it must get and that they simply want to keep things a surprise, but it could also be that there is a development hell, and perhaps the reason they are silent is because they don't want the public to know because they believe it would only disappoint fans, so the longer we are so dry with news, the more I am starting to believe the more negative theory. The thing with the whole confirmation bias argument is that there’s no evidence we’re ignoring to fit our narrative (except for the Napoleon one, I think that’s far fetched but it’s possible). The cake slice first result is April 2nd. The imagine dragons tweet that shows up is April 2nd. There’s no contradictory evidence there. If it is a coincidence then we are the unluckiest fandom of all time Also, when Leth said he doesn’t get told about directs in advance, I would think that only applies if the game isn’t there. If the game is submitted and confirmed to a direct they would have to know the date.

You know what! I too also have a copium-filled idea as to what happened! You know how in the "AMA" Leth did yesterday, he mentioned that they didn't know Nintendo Switch 2 was gonna be revealed? Think about that for a second... doesn't that mean they literally didn't know that Nintendo themselves was gonna shadow-drop a trailer?? And if we look at the timing, William made those chages to his twitter and made that post RIGHT BEFORE the trailer dropped... which could mean.... this whole thing might've been an INSANELY unlucky coincidence where William wanted to tease the April 2nd date himself... but literally right after he did, Nintedo themselves revealed it anyway..... so William now knowing the date and revealing it early might've looked bad?? If everything is pointing to April 2nd, then there's no mystery. We know for sure that's our date for a trailer or whatever. Ed Sheeran also has a song called Eyes Closed and a KZbin short called Eyes Closed (out tomorrow). I generally don't think connection hunting is a reliable way of finding information but I accept that the connections of switch reveal, direct date, cake date and Imagine Dragons tweet date are compelling.

No matter if it was an NDA, troll or simply a coincidence, I think TC should at least make a small update on the game (that isn't just a vague "it's in development and will release one day") before this situation ruins the smallest amount of reputation they still have. First of all, I want to say that i've only started playing hollow knight last month specifically to avoid this situation (but experienced a similiar one as a Megaman fan with rockman taisen), so i'm not such a big expert on the matter. While I do think TC are just people who can make mistakes and don't deserve to be harassed, I can't help but sympathize with those who are fed up with the radio silence. After all, the game was apparently supposed to come out in June of 2023, and it's been 1 year and a half (almost 3 since they gave any meaningful news): I don't think it's that hard to give fans a time period in which they can expect a new blog post with a screenshot/character profile. The fact people had to use a random tweet from a joke account and a copyright update for TC's website to have the bare minimum of news is embarassing on both sides, but waiting two days to say anything while even big videogame news outlets and KZbinrs (like Arlo) got on the conversation feels extremely unprofessional. Overall, I didn't want to be too negative, but atp it's not a question of releasing the game, it's about trust.
