Erm ... yes I think that was mostly the Winsor and Newton Payne's grey - I'm hesitating because I can't remember if it was indigo - but they're very similar in my palette.

Hi Lou, I find sometimes when i mix colours wet on wet that it leaves a harsh water line. What could I be doing wrong & how can I avoid it?

Hi Jess, you sometimes get lines when you have areas of wetter paint and drier paint next to one another, as the paint dries, the wetter areas start forming dark lines along the edges. There are things you can do - working quickly is one, another is re-wetting the whole area if you start to see lines forming. If you’re painting a large area, make sure you keep a wet edge to paint into. Paper makes a big difference too. Cotton papers stay wet for longer, giving you more time to work so it’s easier to avoid lines, and I’ve found that hot pressed (smooth) papers are harder to work with than cold pressed or textured papers.
